Really enjoyed the chase down the Tharwa River and I think it’s the best chase out of all your videos. So Lucky to have a Fab landscape like that and I know you have to travel to it. Brilliant Stuff.

Amongst some of the amazing things about this flight is how in hells bells are you managing to get the telemetry and video back over such topography and distances?!

We would only have used half the range available on the DJI FPV video system on this flight. 🙂

Very nice, how long can you fly on a fully charged battery pack? Also what is the cost for a plane and needed setup to fly like this (all things, plane, radio, goggles, everything), is it very expensive?
@ZaksterBlue10 ай бұрын
I usually fly for around 35 mins at 70kph on the Li-Ion 4200mah 4S packs I made. Cost really depends on how much you decide to spend on the gear. Digital FPV from scratch is the most expensive part, with goggles for $350-600 USD depending on what you pick and whether you go second hand, and a digital transmitter/camera is $100-200 depending on what system and option you pick, plus long range directional antennas for the goggles add a bit more but is worth it for range - another $50-100. Or old 'skool analogue goggles and VTX, second hand even, you could pick up for $150-$300 if you shop around and depending on how cheap and basic you are willing to go. Directional antennas may come with a second hand kit, but otherwise add $20-70 for cheap patch or good TrueRC crosshair antennas. Radio transmitter with inbuilt ELRS long range receiver, and a receiver, anywhere from $150-400 depending on what you choose. The plane kit, motor, props, 2x servos, GPS, flight controller - again, depends on how good or cheap you go, but probably looking at $250-$300. Then some flight batteries, again, huge price range here too - let's say $40 for one set. So... there's a huge amount of variables, and postage can be a killer if you have to order from overseas. An analogue build with cheap parts, cheap goggles, radio, motor, etc you could probably get away with for $650-700 USD. Go digital FPV, and you're more like $1000-1300 USD for the package. And if everything I'm talking about is new to you - soldering flight controllers, setting up INAV, ELRS, FPV kit, flying a plane at all, it's going to be a very big learning curve needing a lot of research and patience.

I try not to be a fanboy on expensive upgrades... but for me, digital totally changed the FPV experience to being an immersive, vibrant, high resolution view of the world in flight. Seeing fine details in the moment and choosing to fly accordingly, rather than only picking up on things later when reviewing HD cam footage, is just amazing. 😇

ELRS or crossfire radio systems are pretty long range, plus give you telemetry data back to your radio.
