So it seems you've studied in Darul Uloom Zakariyya, which is a deobandi university here in SA. What exactly are you? Are you a Deobandi? You praise Ashraf Ali Thanvi, etc but have a sufi approach. Please clarify yourself

8 days and no reply to your question. Deobandi? Sufi? Why not just say Bida'a and walk away ? Walk only on the Straight Path: be upon the Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) and the Salaf of the Sahaba. It is the human condition to desire the distractions of this or that sect: Hala Madrid! Hala Tijani! My Dad is better than your Dad! It is childish and not spirituality at all.

Tasawuff is about tazkiya nafs and away of getting the state of Ahsan احسان to get closer to Allah Swt . Hazrat Molana ashraf Ali tanvi is a big name in Tasawuff and if sheikh is mentioning him , it means he follow his teachings . Yes he is learned and associated with deoband educational system .

Tasawuff is tazkiya nafs and a way of getting level of Ahsan to get closer to Allah Swt . Hadith mentions the level of Ahsan and then given its description what Ahsan is ? But how to achieve Ahsan Tasawuff is there to take you through the process and tasawuff itself is based on Quran and sunnah . Nothing is from outside . That’s why very very big ulama have gone through this process and Alhamdulillah achieved level of Ahsan
