After all the florins I sunk into Monteriggioni during Assassin's Creed 2; it broke my heart starting Brotherhood to see it all torn down. I never saw the trailers before I played Brotherhood so it was a total surprise. It was cool to explore modern day Monteriggioni as Desmond though.

@@slakyv4460 So do i, all of those moments of Ezio jumping off the wrong directions and forcing himself to ride up a non-existant wall and getting stuck while in a timer and to see that armor destroyed and lost pissed me off. Thankfully Brotherhood has the option for Armor Of Altair as a cosmetic costume, in my headcanon (or how i play the games) Ezio gets it but needs to put new armor parts to it (hence, the health squares increasing despite being powerful in 2) before Revalations where the armor gets gray and old and has a new set of armor and some new parts to buy for his last journey to find Altair.

In the novel when they escape, there is a part when the Borgia show the head of Mario to them from across a bridge. There's also a scene with a soldier carrying a halberd with the head of a girl on top of it. The way Mario dies is more gruesome too.

Surprised to find a fresh comment here. To answer your question, I didn’t get to play the game but I did have the book and if I remember correctly, Leonardo was coaxed into helping the Borgia. He later helps Ezio anyways.As for giving Ezio a gun, the man didn’t need it. Young Ezio still had his body to rely on, and the Hidden Pistol in reality wouldn’t be as reliable as people think it would be aside from being a trump card for perilous situations. Old Ezio knows age is catching up to him, and needed the extra gear to make up for the loss of speed and reaction time.

Plus now I've thought about it, I do prefer the gauntlet hidden pistol to a flintlock pistol especially since when Assassin's Creed 3 came along without the Hidden Pistol, I did miss it a lot. 😒🥺 Thanks for the explanation dude. So why didn't ezio keep her as the leader when he retired from the order? She became an Assassin in the first place because she proved her worth in providing crucial aid to the Brotherhood by obtaining valuable information. She's not a master Assassin or mentor, but that's nothing against her. Not every Assassin with reaches that rank.

But yeah the whole history and lore that the first few games focus on would be unaffected. Doesn't mean it's not a great game. It's just a separate genre. It's kind of like how AC fans claim that the new RPG AC games are horrible. Objectively these games are pretty good. The fact that they are still labelled as Assassin's Creed games is where 90% of the hate comes from.

Yep, Cesare is Rodrigo's Son. And this is shortly after Ezio infiltrated the Vatican so Rodrigo presumably told Cesare about Ezio's Assassins as he grew up. I mean I'm sure the hateful story of The Assassins is a Templar Bedtime story. As we've seen Cesare is one vengeful person.
