It's how Anti-Venom came to be in the comics too, actually. Comics-wise, Mr. Negative's powers (specifically his Lightforce) purified the Venom symbiote that tried to recombine with Eddie Brock, who had been unknowingly injected with the Lightforce.

Anti Venom is kinda broken (comics at least) since it has all the perks of a symbiote, it doesn’t have the fire/sound weaknesses, it doesn’t take control over the host and it has a very strong curative power

For those wondering, anti venom can’t leave its host because it is not sentient like other symbiotes and on top of that it’s merged to the white blood cells of the user. Only weaker clones of it can be made but the original will be stuck to the owner forever so Peter is keeping it. Lee also said it’s stuck to Peter and is part of him which is why he resorted to infusing his powers in the remaining parts of venom in peters body instead of trying to destroy it because it couldn’t be destroyed.

Although... the comics Anti-Venom suit had healing powers that could heal basically anything, including cancer- you don't have to wear it for Anti-Venom to use their healing powers on you. It seems that this version of Anti-Venom only has anti-symbiote powers minus the healing though.

Given how the black suit was shown to be his gimmick to set him apart from Miles', I was wondering how Insomniac was gonna handle the inevitable moment where Peter would have to part with it for us to get Venom. Having him gaining the Anti-Venom suit was honestly a really cool way for him to keep the symbiote powers, story-wise. Also, to me, it kinda feels like a callback to the last game's climax with the anti-ock suit.

I really liked Miles' character growth the most in this mission. For most of the game in its earlier parts, we see how much he was getting annoyed and maybe even a little hurt when he was starting to feel overlooked by Peter due to how much Peter was forced to put him on the sidelines to focus on his own life, but here Miles finally gets a look into Peter's mind and realizes how hectic Peter's life truly is and how much he's been through compared to him. Unlike Peter, Miles has had extra powers that help give him an edge in battle, a mentor to help teach him the ropes of being a superhero, someone to share the burden of being Spider-Man so that he didn't have to carry that weight alone and much more. Miles finally realized in his own way how he was reflecting off of Li and not thinking about how Peter must've felt the whole time and how much he needs to take over as Spider-Man more in order to help Peter get his life back on track again. It shows that Miles is learning from Li to not make the same mistakes he did and to think more carefully about the people he cares about around him and that Miles is finally understanding why Peter has been so distant lately and that he needs to let his mentor have more time to himself.

It doesn’t have a mind of its own. Lee also said this in the game. He tried to drive the synbiote out of Peter but he couldn’t so he resorted to just giving the symbiote his powers to purify the evil in it so Pete could control it. It’s stuck with Peter.

Honestly I wish the Anti Venom design should've appeared at least in the story part. Then have it be converted into a white suit after that. Anti Venom's design is literally one of the coolest for a symbiote suit and it's a shame it wasn't shown here.

You know I have a theory about the anti-venom suit. In the venom boss fight against Peter, when venom becomes the enraged form, notice how the anti-venom suits becomes a symbiote for a bit, in the future in Spiderman 3, the anti-venom suit slowly becomes less and less of a suit and slowly turns back into a symbiote, which slowly turns peter to a true anti anti venom and then it becomes a boss fight.

I'm going to be honest, when I first read about Miless in the comics, he had gotten his powers and seen Spider-Man/Peter Parker got killed. But seeing the first Spider Man game along with this one, I'm liking this version Way Better, The OG and The New Spider-Man, is truly the way it should be.

Fun fact, when you go into symbiote surge mode with the black suit, you hear whispers of the Symbiote suit. When you do it with the anti-venom suit, the whispers are gone.
