“Return my son or you may meet the God I once was” had no business being the coldest line in the game

That “I know” from kratos is probably the softest he’s ever spoken and it was so perfect. The amount of trust and love between mimir and kratos in this game was amazing

It shows Odin’s cunning how he constantly feigns weakness. He hides behind the dwarf with his hands up like Kratos could kill him like a man, but then when he’s actually ready to fight Odin clearly has a ridiculous ammount of physical and magical strength. As sun tzu said, when weak, appear strong and when strong, appear weak

One thing I loved about this scene is that Kratos is a very different person, but isn't afraid to revert back if it is needed. He is no longer the same hateful, vengeful person he once was, but he is willing to bring it back if it means his son gets to live. Watching him grow from the god killer he once was and back to a caring father, it would feel far more terrifying if he ever reverted back to his old self, especially with his mastered rage.

It's so interesting to see how many angles Odin attempts to manipulate Kratos with. He fails to bribe him, play his ego, enrage him, scare him, or crush his confidence. He can't even physically intimidate Kratos because he probably can't kill him 1 on 1. The only leverage he has is Loki.

I love Odin’s, “Do they not have metaphor in your homeland?” The irony. Because yes, they did have metaphors in Greece. The word and concept are derived from Greek… μεταφορά (metaphorá) literally means "transference (of ownership)" which is why it’s used to refer to one thing by mentioning another.

I love the way Odin was handled in this game. We know how evil he is. But when Atreus goes to Asgard, the front he puts on is so convincing, I found myself starting to question if Odin was just misunderstood the whole time. I had to keep reminding myself of all the awful things he's done. That's some good writing.

Mimir just casually boosted Kratos' self-esteem after Odin left. He's the embodiment of that one friend that's always by your side regardless the situation.

Me just realizing the only reason kratos didn't turn to face Odin when his back wide open is because Mimir was watching his back and it also shows how he trusts him

I love the final dialogue between Odin and Kratos. When it becomes clear to the All-Father that this former Greek God won't fall for any of Odin's tricks, he starts to lose control of himself, trying to verbally tear into Kratos by citing his stoic and steadfastness as proof of how little he cares for mortal life, but Kratos holds his ground and doesn't talk back. He simply looks at him as a soldier holding the line, proving his discipline over himself greater than the King of Asgard.
