Dear Sirs I would like to express my wholehearted thanks to you for having posted this marvellous page, surely one of the best of the Italian Melodram. Really Riccardo Zandonai was an excellent composer, besides either Maria Caniglia as well as Giacinto Prandelli were both excellent singers. Listening at this unforgettable duet is really a great pleasure: thank you very much!!

What a revelation hearing this so sensitively sung by two pros with a genuine sense of style and feeling for the text, and great conducting. Francesca is such an unjustifiably maligned and ignored opera. Granted, there are some bombastic passages, but more than offset by many rapturously beautiful parts and gorgeous orchestration. Thank you for posting this!

Voce di velluto nero fondo, quella della Caniglia, qui una Francesca votata senza ripensamento alcuno all'inferno. Prandelli era alle sue ultime prestazioni apprezzabili e Guarnieri dirige Zandonai magnificamente, come nessun altro!
