Zandvoort Lap Guide - Assetto Corsa Competizione
I hope this was helpful, if you have any more tips to share then feel free to comment. Also remember to share the video to others that may like to get better at this track.
Laptime in the video is a 1:34.1 and I used the default aggressive setup.

It's mainly because of this Track... Similar to the kerbs on the Nordschleife, the kerbs are very steep and narrow in Zandvoort. On most racetracks the kerbs are meant to be useed, but on this one it is very important to stay away from most of them.

Great guide even if it is a few years old now at this stage. Practicing for this weeks LFM dailies, managed to get down to 1.37 after watching this and there's still a lot of time left on the track to work on. Zandvoort is a track only the Dutch could come up with, its so unique and a lot of fun once you get comfortable with it. Thanks for all the content you provide - really appreciated.

Nice guide. I am new to this game but Zandvoort is one of my favourite tracks. I didn't watched any guides before but somehow I managed 1:42 with 46L in the Lambo 😅 I'll try to reduce it and use your breaking points, it will definitely help me because I mentioned that I am breaking sometimes too early or for too long. I.e. the last chicane I needed to shift down to first, because I loose so much momentum in the left turn.

Another good reason to avoid some kerbs (especially the tight corners with the little raised "island" at the apex) is that they can knock some tyre pressure out of your tyre each time you hit them too hard.

I Have driven the track quite a lot. I even got my racing license there, but the first corner (Tarzan) is supposed te be driven differently. You drive all the way on the left, brake rally late turn very sharply and basically take a straight line from the left side of the corner along a very late apex.

Hi, I really like your track guide videos:) But I always struggling with the breaking point on the track. I am good at it with it have racing line guide, but when I hide the racing line, I always forget the breaking points. I think I need to practice at lot to learn a track since I just started playing sim race game. So, I want to know when you are learning a new track at beginning, what do you do? Do you practice a lot with the racing line on or off? And normally how long it will take to know the track very well(by laps or time)? What else do you suggest to a racing beginner? I really like your videos, keep it up! :)
@unleasheddrivers1281
@unleasheddrivers1281 4 жыл бұрын
Theres a lot of things to consider when learning a track but i can mention a few things. I personally dont use the racing line guide but that very much is a useful tool for learning a track. Over time you need to start picking out braking markers for corners like you see in this video, it can be objects on the side of the track or anything that can help you remember the right spot for braking. You also must understand the shapes of the corners properly, some corners might be a lot tighter than you are trying to taking them and might require you to slow down a lot more than you think. There are many things you can do when learning a track but I think you are doing a good thing by using the racing line guide. Definitely finding brake markers and understanding each corner on the track is super important too.
@Quazi-moto
@Quazi-moto 3 жыл бұрын
I basically HAVE to use the racing line to learn a track. Especially the braking points. Time on-track will tell you where the lines are, but with me, it takes a lot more laps on top of that to nail the braking points. And the thing I'm worst at is still slowing down too much. Not crazy amounts, but enough that I lose several seconds by the lap's end.

@@DaanRacer Then I must be a slow learner or something because there's NO way I can go to a brand new track and master the location of all braking points in just 5 laps. 5 laps is about where I BEGIN to get a feel for them. You must be one of those aliens I keep hearing tell of. But I have changed up my learning style since writing that comment. Now I prefer to learn it on my own, without the line; unless I have a problem corner(s) that I just can't seem to master without it, e.g. Raidillon into Eau Rouge.

Just using default aggressive setup in this lap. A combination of braking, trail braking, turning points and throttle control put together really well can add up to a very quick lap time. It's not something that can normally be picked up in a few minutes, itll take a lot of studying of lines and car control and then practice to take more seconds off your time

Hello guys! Even though you made this video more than a year ago, I will give it a try and maybe you will respond. I would like to ask what wheel and pedals you use. I saw in another video that you (one of you) use a Logitech G29 wheel. Do you use the stock pedals? I am asking this because in another video you compared the cars around this circuit and you were in the 1:35's and 1:34's. Even though I am new to sim racing, I feel I am on the edge of the car's grip and I just can't find a way to go under 1:40. I heard that load cell pedals help to go deeper when braking at a corner entry. I was wondering if you were able to complete these lap times consistently with a stock pedal set in which the brake pedal does not have a load cell module. Is it possible? I am considering buying a load cell pedal set but if you say that you can complete these lap times with a stock pedal set, I will try to refine my brake usage before further considering the load cell pedal set. Thank you in advance if you respond.
@unleasheddrivers1281
@unleasheddrivers1281 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I dont use the stock pedals anymore, I use the Fanatec V3 Clubsport pedals now, however, when this video was made, I was still using the stock Logitech pedals. Load cell pedals will most likely not increase pace, however they will likely improve your consistency and you may find it easier to brake correctly with. A lot of time is made under braking yes, however also focus on your acceleration zones, dont wait too late to accelerate and make sure not to accelerate too early making you have to lift off throttle again so that you dont run off the track. Ideally you enter corner max braking force, hold max braking force until you are in the turning zone, as you turn in, release the brake pedal down to about 10-20% which is the trail braking part of the turn, and about mid corner you should have no more brake input, make sure the car has gripped up at the front and begin accelerating out of the turn, in a lot of cars you can put your foot flat on the throttle immediately, in some cars it requires a more gradual application. But all of this should ideally be in one fairly smooth motion, tapping the brake multiple times into a corner too hard will cause great time loss and the same with stuttery throttle inputs on exit. Load cell pedals are recommended if you can afford it, but I wouldnt say lap times will come flying down because of them unless they somehow help you pick up information from the car that you didnt get before (which could be possible), I'd say spend lots of time practicing your technique whether on logitech pedals or load cell pedals, watch pedal inputs from other drivers, search up about trail braking techniques and examples. Itll all come in time but it definitely needs a lot of practice

Hello there! Thank you very much for taking such a lot of time to respond in such details! I truly appreciate it, thank you so much! I was already amazed by your laps, now I am even more amazed! :) Congratulations for your driving! I will take your advices and spend a lot of time (as much as time allows) on practice. However, I am very frustrated. Sometimes I do manage to brake quite late, but when I turn in, I can't find the grip that your cars seem to have mid-corner. Maybe I will have to be earlier on the throttle and increase the steering input. I am just afraid that the rear and will kick out. My car seems to be less stable and softer (I mean the suspension) showing a bit more lateral rolls. I intentionally used the agressive preset without any modification to compare myself to you and others who uploaded their laps with the aggresive preset. Also, I can't be earlier on the throttle at corner exits, otherwise I get wheel spin and oversteer. I guess it comes down to that I had been driving Gran Turismo for years and especially with controller, not a steering wheel. So, I am still adjusting to how I should drive fast and smoothly using a wheel and pedals. I am frustrated but I will not give up. And again, thank you very much for your kindness to respond in such details!
