Zane, I hope you see this. I felt the same on my anxiety medication. I originally was on Prozac for a few years but found it did the same thing you described. An emotional “numbing” where there’s no true low or high. I never felt truly happy on Prozac because I was just in that middle area. I didn’t realize how bad it was and I recently changed to Zoloft. I finally found something that works for my anxiety but also allows me to have those emotional highs. It’s such a difference. Just wanted to mention that so you know the emotional numbing isn’t a symptom you have to live with. You can try other meds and find the right one. Just wanted to share my experience. I am happy you are working on your mental health and wish you all the best.
@savaanas23572 жыл бұрын

Any idea what Zane is on? I’m trying to have my doctor let me try something different.
@breannemichele99882 жыл бұрын
@@savaanas2357 yeah, they all effect each person differently so you may feel the emotional numbing on Zoloft when I don’t. You may try Prozac, which didn’t work for me, and it may be the perfect one for you. The one things that most people don’t know is that it usually takes trying 2 or 3 different meds to get to the right one for you. Most people give up after the first or second one not working. It’s worth pushing through and finding the right one. I was on such a fog for 4 years on Prozac with the emotional numbing I felt. Didn’t realize how good I could feel until I moved to Zoloft. Hoping you find what works for you!!
@breannemichele99882 жыл бұрын
@@ValeriePenaranda I didn’t hear him say what he’s on but everyone reacts to each differently so whatever he is on, you may not feel the emotional numbing. Best to push through and find the one that works for you. Know that you don’t have to settle for just not feeling the lows, you should also be able to feel the highs/ feel happy. That gray area of the emotional numbing doesn’t have to be tolerated, it just may take some time and patience to find the right med. All the best

@@8CheerleadingGirl8 i’m from the uk and take sertraline! started on 25mg for first week or so, to increase to 50, then went to 100mg for about a year and a half. went back down to 50 about 6 months ago! i have to be honest though, the first 2ish months were probably the worst i’ve ever felt, i was warned that it would make me feel worse before i feel better (an understatement🫣), which lasted more on the 8week mark (but i was at uni then so it’s part situational i would guess). once my body and mind adjusted, it got so much easier, went numb/ autopilot for a while, but that was better than the extremes i was feeling before! it’s different for everyone though, advice would be to listen to your doctor and seek counselling if you can (potentially offered at your school/university/workplace?) to help you get through it! being open with friends and family if you can and feel safe too is important aswell! probably tmi but i’m at a place where i’m pretty open about my medication! it’s all a learning process at the end of the day, and it’s not a one size fits all, so do what’s best for you!

@@8CheerleadingGirl8 i don’t have any advice for prozac, i would assume maybe your doctors have said to start with small doses and increase when you feel you can? with my 50mg tablets, i use to cut them down in half with a knife and just kept the other half for the next day, hope that helps at least!
@graceleonard58022 жыл бұрын
@@8CheerleadingGirl8 I’ve been on Prozac since 2018 I believe. But I’ve found it to be a life saver and honestly it is just so relieving so be able to do simple things like driving or going on a date and things like that and then just being able to calm myself down when being anxious rather than it immediately taking over me and going into a full blown anxiety attack (hyperventilating, going numb for me) it is extremely helpful for me at least I would highly recommend especially if you have tried everything and it seems to not work

The excitement I felt when you guys started asking questions about carbon monoxide since I literally just learned about it in my chemistry class😂 Carbon monoxide is a bi product gas that comes from the burning of fuels. So houses that run on gas are more likely to have issues with CO. But dryers and water heaters also release small amounts of CO when running, the issue arises when something is wrong with the system and for the decide to continually burn fuel and start to release toxic amounts of CO gas into your house.
