Nice to see you are back in KL. I usually stay at the Robertson so I'm very familiar with the complex and the neighborhood. I'm sure you've discovered by now that behind that locked door off the kitchen is likely a washing machine. I've stayed in several apartments in the Robertson and most have a washing machine. The last one I stayed in even had a dryer...very unusual to see that. Just Fruits is a great place to buy most groceries. There are some restaurants, cafes and even a craft beer place located in a secluded small neighborhood directly behind the Robertson. You can access it by going to the first floor, walking through the parking garage, and walking out the back entrance. The "Sky Needle" is KL Tower. They do a light show on the tower in the evenings. That's a Catholic church across the street. You'll hear the bells at 6 am and 6 pm every day. The 15 minute walk to Pavilion Mall and the other cool places around there (like Damascus) is reasonable. From that outdoor section in Pavilion you can walk to Suria KLCC using a covered and somewhat airconditioned elevated walkway. The area with all the bars is Changkat. You're right about KL being a place no one talks about in the US. No one seems to know anything about it. Not sure why it's that way but it is definitely undiscovered for most Americans. For me, it's one of my favorite cities in the world. Enjoy!!

@@adamrsamian3964 That's due to government incompetence. Without tourists, the tourism industry would collapse, leading to widespread economic hardship in many regions. Businesses that rely on tourism, such as hotels, restaurants, and tour operators, taxi drivers and even doctors and nurses (medical tourism) would suffer, leading to job losses and financial instability. This is why during the pandemic, many Malaysians withdraw from KSWP because there's little income.

Same, I'm just doing my visa run from Vietnam to KL again this month. But I find the city terribly boring with nothing to do apart from going to the mall and eating the very tasty but calorific Middle Eastern./ Indian / Malay fusion food. As an indonesian living in Jakarta my whole life (20+ years in PIK 1 area), Kuala Lumpur is definitely on my top 3 favorite place to visit! Its definitely live-able, vibrant, clean & the most important is ORGANIZED! Very contrast from Jakarta 😂 a lot of indos (especially Jakartans) will come for me for this comment but idc, bcs the reality is Jakarta is a MESS. Indos will always argue that jakarta is fancy, filled with modern buildings and walkable (well true, but they only mentioned scbd area and sometimes PIK, as it's starting to gain more attention due to rapid development), but the 90% / the rest of Jakarta don't even have functional sidewalk 😂 i'm not saying KL is 100% walkable, i found some parts where the sidewalk don't even exist, but compared to jakarta, its WAYYYY live-able. At least KL is not filled with beggars, illegal street food vendors, pickpocket, and low-iq racist religion fanatic 😂 where as Jakarta is a whole circus y'all. When i stated this type of comments, indos get mad instead of admitting the foul of Jakarta 😂 and asked me to move out to KL. Trust me, i could, right now, move to to KL/SG happily. But y'all indos know damn well why i or any other "rich" / middle-upper class indos chose to stay in indo, despite all the mess .. y'all didn't have to play dumb, bcs money rule everything here in indo .. from cheap labour, easy access to build and run a company & you can buy a way out of ANY problems due to corrupted systems 😂 jakarta / indo is a HEAVEN for middle/upper class, and i'll lose all those privilege if i move to other country so ... in a way thats the "positive" of living here 🤪🥹
