I love this music, her music. But, I have a hard time listening to the whole album, song after song, back to back. By the time I get to this song, if I weren't already, I'm sobbing. It's as if I'm listening to the soundtrack of my life in 2023. My divorce, the loss of my home, trying to go clubbing again at my age, sadness about putting my daughter through this, my Dad getting sick and passing away a week before Christmas... In Simulation, "The simulation's gonna break, if I don't just get it right." In Metrics, "Is existing enough? Will I ever be enough?" In Burial, "I dug a hole and buried him, with a final touch of the softest grey, I took it in." In Closing, "Everyone's pretending to care, but no one's there." In Teatree, "It's kinda hard to get where I'm going, so far." And in Departure, Alison telling me that, "it's going to be ok." Puts me over the edge every time. Thank you, by the way.
