Love your content. I am planning my trip to Ethiopia in September. I am making reservations at Maribela. Im thinking of spending a week in Lalibela, just doing Day activities (no village sleep overs, and fly to Addis Ababa as needed. What do you think? Thanks!

Wow, thank you so much for the super thanks!! That was sooo kind of you! Maribela is beautiful and in a good location. Ask for Gezechew (in the video) and tell him about the video. I’m sure he will be very helpful. In regards to one week: it depends on what you want to do. One week is a long time unless you plan something else such as a hike outside of the main city. There are villages you can hike to (about a 3-5 hour hike) with a guide. I did this on my first visit and it was a great experience while staying the night with a family. There is a celebration called, “Meskel”that happens in September … lalibela might be a cool place to be for that- I’m not sure. There is SO MUCH to do in Ethiopia. Depending on how much time you have, I would definitely explore as many areas as you can. 3-5 days in Lalibela is honestly probably enough

@@ZannParker Hi Zann, actually I've been talking to Negasi so far. I sent a message to the guy you mentioned from their website. I did not receive a response. There are only 2 things I want to do. Visit the churches in Lalibela. Visit Abune Yemets Guh, and climb up. Did it take 2 or 3 days to get there? Im all out. I wish you the very best in your continued Journey. Peace.

@@mkay3751which guy did you reach out to from the video? Shoot me an email and I can try to help you as much as possible. Negasi is ahhhmazimg!!! You will love him. It takes just a few hours to get to the area of Abune Yemata, you’ll stay the night and hike in the morning, and then head back to the airport… unless you want to go to other churches in the area. Because we were traveling with 3 content creators our trip took much longer so we didn’t see any of the other ones. If you have the time, I suggest going to Danakil Depression before or after Abune Yemata. You’re already up there and close and it is incredible. 4 days in Lalibela, 2 days for Abune Yemata , and 3 days Danakil. And give 2-3 days for traveling days or in case of delay. Negasi can help with the the rock church and Danakil and I can give you phone numbers of contacts in Lalibela.
