To answer the "what sight is this?" question, that's a reflector sight for aircraft, it's what's installed in cockpits for pilots to aim with. It also requires a power supply, which none of those guns have.

it's not weird at all. Most of those sights are based off prototypes from that era and before. Red dot sights have technically been around for about a century. They just weren't prominently used.

I think those expectations is what brings you to think that it's weird. You're expecting cod to be another game.

WaW actually had different factions and weaponry that fit the WW2 setting they were going for, same thing for BO1 and its cold war setting. Even the futuristic and/or spacey CoDs actually committed to the setting of their games, so why does Vanguard not care about its setting? Why does every gun have a red dog sight in World War 2? Why are the factions literally named "My Team" and "Enemy team" for fucks sake?????
