Welcome aborad, let's bulldoze through the bogus walls of positivity concealing the reality of what human life is.

Good stuff. it’s a DANGEROUS essay… and one must be strong to ACCEPT its inconvenient truth. Most will not. The truth will not set you free….at least not this time

I wonder, at the end of his life did he have any thoughts on climate change? Because it really does feel like we’re about to be crushed under the weight of those antlers very soon.

Zapffe was part of Norway's Deep Ecology movement and published essays concerning ecology such as "Farewell, Norway" which has been translated into English. Cheers

Have any of this writer's main works been translated into English? Not able to find much other than translations of his Last Messiah essay.
@Leevark2 жыл бұрын
Sadly, to the best of my knowledge, none of his works other than The Last Messiah has been translated to English. His texts don't get prioritised because they don't mesh with the rainbows-and-sunshine image the academic doxa loves to push. Philipp Mainländer gets the same treatment. Thomas Ligotti's notorious book "The Conspiracy Against the Human Race" is largely inspired by Zapffe's The Last Messiah. You could leaf through that.
