I remember seeing a case where a woman jumped out of a car on a bridge. 2 or 3 men got out, chased her, attacked her, & threw her off of the bridge. There were DOZENS of people who saw it happening & not a single person did ANYTHING. They just sat in their cars & watched this woman get murdered! I could never wrap my head around that. Research also shows that if 1 person gets involved, then other people will step up. It's as if nobody wants to be the 1st to act. It's sad

When I got the notification I was sooo happy that you covered a case I requested! Thank you so much. There was an issue with my phone so I took it out for repairs and that's why I wasn't able to comment till now. You talked about some little details that were not included in the app I read it on and I finally understand the case better. Thanks once again, keep up the great work on your channel.

This case is so sad but so important. I remember learning about this in school during our ethics/religion class as a kid, but this should definitely be taught to every child not just if they happen to be taking a religion class.

There was a law and order SVU episode that was loosely based on this case. It’s so sad to think that she could have survived had even one person come out of their apartment.

As disgusting and senseless as this murder was , at least it wasn't all in vain ... it forced us all to really take a look at ourselves as a society and implement changes ... we do still have quite a way to go , though ... great video and makeup , sis ! Always excited to see thumbnails for new videos ... and I'm pretty sure that you are observant and courageous enough to trust your gut and help someone who needs help ... the lady you saw get out of the car didn't sound like she was in danger ... he didn't pursue her or something , so you shouldn't be so hard on yourself ...

You’re so right! Sometimes things like that happen for a reason as bad as the outcome was it does force us to look at ourselves! Thanks so much I always think about that woman 🥺
@celiacruzazucar6630 Жыл бұрын
I think she died in vain. just like all the women in this Globe, who died in vain that day. Here in the present nothing has changed. We look at ourselves in society. Yet our society teaches us a killer/s a monster, a child terrorist abuser (mom dad) etc, has equal rights & freedoms as a person a productive member of society. It's a slap on the face.

I saw a young man killed in my yard as a kid. I was looking out of my window because I thought the sounds were fireworks. I told my aunt that I saw something and she told me to go to bed and keep my mouth shut. I think so many of us are taught to keep our mouths shut.

Idk if they do this in other countries but at the end of each year at most schools in the US, we have these little elections that the results are posted in the yearbook each year and there is usually a male student and female student ‘winner’ for each title. The titles are usually things along the lines of class clown (or cut-up), most likely to be president, most likely to be on a reality show, best dressed, etc. it’s supposed to just be a fun thing to do with classmates at the end of the year lol

I'm waaay behind and finally watched this...This reminds me of an SVU episode where everyone sees and no one does anything (I presume the storyline is loosely based on this case). From memory in the episode, the person that "doesn't want to get involved" is an alcoholic who relapses that night and there's doubt about whether they are a credible witness. Great video as always xx

The bystander effect isn't just the lack of people wanting to help it's also that people won't help or call for help because they believe someone else will. And when it comes to hearing an attack it's hard to tell if it's an attack or just someone being loud if you don't know exactly what is being said. At that time also domestic abuse wasn't considered as bad as it is now so if people heard a woman being loud without being able to fully tell what she was saying they may have thought a husband and wife were arguing and was not their place to interrupt.

If someone would have went down to make sure she was okay, she would have survived. It’s so heartbreaking 💔 that know one helped her! I live in an apartment complex, in my bedroom the window is right over the parking space so I will hear people arguing or fighting, a couple of times when I see a man yelling at his girlfriend/ wife I make my voice sound like a guy and tell him to leave her alone, and they usually leave or stop fighting. I always had wished someone did that for me, when my ex husband use to fight with me. So I try to help them when I can. I feel like I would have felt horrible if someone died and I could have helped them 😢 Love your channel ❤ such a sad case though.

24:50 that is 1000% of news today. Reporting on their agenda instead of any facts or context whatsoever is just "the news."
@JesusismyRock773 Жыл бұрын
The only way to sell the news now is to embellish it so much that the story most likely doesn't even resemble what actually happened. No one trust the main stream news anymore. They are all liars and just out to make a buck no matter who they hurt. They have become scab newspapers.

There was actually a Tubi movie called 37 based on this case. It was quite boring to me because most of the movie was about the "witnesses" rather than the victim. It probably has loads of incorrect information like much of the other material regarding this case, and the fact that it's called "37" when it seems that it was 38 witnesses, is clear that some of the info may be off. Thank you for covering this case. It gave me more info on the victim and allowed me to understand the case a lot more. I really love your channel... Keep up the good work👍

If I see something, I do something; however, when we lived in an apartment, we heard fights happen all the time and loud/rude/obnoxious people outside and inside. It’s hard to pinpoint where it’s coming from and what’s going on. I’ve stepped in for a lot of situations one way or the other, but I was raised in a “See something, do something” family and I’m sure watching my parents do that affected my actions.

Calling the police even before the emergency number is so basic. You can easily tell the operator or person at the desk AND tell them not to come to your home. 911 must have made this process easier but seriously...My 2nd husband and I lived in an "exciting" neighborhood for more than a decade. When we were awakened by gun fire we would take turns calling the police. Knowing that you did your best to help lets you sleep easier.

It's so disgusting I see all these videos where people are shooting videos nowadays instead of helping the person that is being harmed and back then regardless if it was a marital or boyfriend girlfriend or after-party thing where people were yelling for help and they were being stabbed or something or whatever new still do something what is wrong with people and Humanity itself and selfishness and anybody who is one of these people are nothing but cowards. You are just as much as a perpetrator by just watching that you didn't do anything to help so I feel that those people should always be accountable as well
