But they hint that the Cannibal is an original dragon from Westeros that wasn't born nor domesticated by the Valyrians, this is even more supported since there are Myths during the age of heroes of warriors that fought dragons (When Dragon Stone didn't even exist). George Intentionally gives multiple views about The Cannibal but at the same time he leaves bread crumps so the most fantastic tale resonate.

Headcanon: The Cannibal was Balerion's offspring and it was hatched by Visenya as a gift to Maegor through a lost valyrian magic to rival Aenys' dragon Quicksilver but unfortunately Maegor was too ambitious and instead of taking the Cannibal he instead took Balerion.

It is not a freak, just a dragon that was never ridden and thus wild (like the grey ghost which was smaller and thus hunting fishes suffices him), also I reckon it is normal behaviour for larger dragons to eat the hatchlings and young weaker dragons if reptile behaviour is anything to go by. The targ dragons were well fed and cared for so didn't practise cannibalism.

So I like to view Drogon as he is portrayed in GOT..especially In the last season😈Now I believe that Drogon as he is portrayed in GOT is better than all the dragons in HoTD in terms of being ferocious and swift in battle...Unless I see more of caraxes in season 2 of HoTD then maybe I will be convinced otherwise. it's so painful what they went for the more cartoony/disney/httyd inspired route, especially since all the concept art for the dragons showed them looking more vicious and in the style of GoT... was really looking forward to DoD but recently I realised I was forcing myself to like it. hopefully in the future we get more games like this (really hoping Dragontwin is successful)

I appreciate the idea of older and larger dragons looking physically worn down a bit due to age and battles like vhagar. But this particular design for the cannibal has too many holes in its wings for it to be believable that it can fly without a problem. Everything else is perfect though

It’s true size and origin is not known the only information about the cannibal in the books is from second hand accounts. Vhagar is definitely the largest during the dance and vermithor is stated as being the second largest. I’d say the cannibals probably fourth behind Balerion, Vhagar, and Vermithor.

@@mymh8633 the lowest estimated size of the Cannibal was that he's highly likely bigger than Vermithor. Yes some size charts state Vhagar to be the largest dragon during the dance fallowed by Vermithor however there's a high possibility of the wild dragons being excluded from the size charts.

He’s the largest wild dragon that ever existed but probably smaller or just as big as Vermithor. While he just as old as Vhagar. The thing is the dragons who’re in captivity with Targaryens have been fed a large amounts of foods compared to the wild dragons who hunts. Which is why the wild dragons are smaller. But what makes up for them is their high amount of aggression. For Cannibal, his aggression goes over the chart.
