This is a wonderful cover! Zavodila is one of those songs that sound surprisingly good on a violin, and the beginning remix section of the piece sounds super. But, I don’t want to sound like a music snob, I’m a little disappointed by the lack of energy in this song. The benefits of playing a violin is that you can add so many intricacies to just a single note, and a vibrato does add more to the notes but not much to the energy. You also play a lot in the middle/at the tip, which also makes the notes sound milder and makes playing fast notes difficult. Try doing more tricks with the bow! Play near the frog to intensify sound, reset the bow near the frog to add crunch to the notes, slur notes that are too fast and end it with a bit of crunch, intentionally crescendo or decrescendo at pivotal moments, etc. I like to over-resin parts near the frog to make sounds more intense. Good luck with your future pieces, and I’m looking forward to your improvements!
