Three interesting decks walk into a bar and sit down. A fourth deck walks in and says “I’ll have the usual.” The bartender hands the deck a Consultation/Oracle martini, and the other three decks leave after realizing they weren’t welcome at this establishment.

It really felt like people were intentionally playing into Sygg's trigger. Like people were shocking in lands with zero intent to use them that turn cycle. I know that's usually just the safe play in Commander, but not when it plays into Sygg triggers.

I didn't have an extra token so I had a flipped over card sleeve representing the summoning sick token. It's a bit tough to see on my playmat. I used that sleeve to represent the summoning sick token each turn and added dice to the real token to represent the ones that could then swing.

At 9:03 Jordan chose to pay for the Proctor trigger, just to put in an Utopia Sprawl. Was this Jordan not thinking the play through, or was it concern for counters?
@Sliver_Boi3 жыл бұрын
I'm a bit confused on the question. Are you referring to Jordan paying for the strict proctor tax so that his kodama trigger would resolve, allowing him to put a permanant into play?
@felixsonofscouty3 жыл бұрын
@@Sliver_Boi I think he is asking why he would pay 2 mana to put a 1 mana card into play
@dantebeleren3 жыл бұрын
@@Sliver_Boi What Griffin said. I don't recall him using the mana for anything, so it might not have mattered. If he wanted an extra land drop or a card with MV higher than 2, I understand denying the trigger, but at 1 or 0 MV it would seem to be better to let the ability get triggered and just naturally play the card. All that to ask, was it an intentional choice, did it matter, or xyz?

same, but, and I quote, the RC "doesn't give a fuck about thassa's oracle because [they] don't see it in [their] games, and if you play against one you can rule 0 it." In other words, the RC fucking sucks. I'm in their discord server just to get TO banned, and even they have admitted that TO is a problematic card, that it's unfair to play against, and that it's not fun; even if I have proven that the card violates most of the lines they have on why a card should be banned, and even if it sees both play in both cEDH and casual EDH as a lame easy way to win, the RC has said exactly what I quoted at the beginning. That they don't care about thassa's oracle. They have told me that they only care and ban carda that they see in their own play group, and since their playgroup is casual, and they think thassa's oracle can't see casual play, they don't care. Besides, they always use the lame excuse of "you can always rule 0 the card" which is ridiculous... Tbh, after the walking dead secret lair when they proved they are in wizard's pocket, i wish wizards took control of the commander ban list once and for all... Wizards even saw the problem in historic and already banned her, yet the RC wants to keep it "rule 0"... Thassa's oracle is absolute bullshit, the RC knows it, and they dont care, and that makes me mad. I mean, if the card should stay on the battlefield for its effect to count but no.... The Sygg deck was awesome, totally fantastic value and it ran so smoothly. This is simply my opinion and plenty of people disagree, but Fish/Consult isn’t casually competitive, even if you aren’t playing Fetches/Duals etc. It also makes for really boring, repetitive content (which this channel usually avoids). Not meaning to be too negative-this channel is great and usually the games are very fun and interesting
@maxennulat96103 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you when you say that Fish/Consult is not semi- or "casually" competitive. It is simply the strongest wincon in cEDH and should not be played in a environment called "semi-competitive". I only disagree when you say that usually the games are very fun. Want to know the reason? Usually Fish/Consult nearly always wins here. Even in one of the Tribal-Episodes, at the end you saw Thassas Consultation make the "Merfolk-Tribe" (Tymna=Merfolk) winning. It's just so fucking boring.

Honestly, the main reason people have massive issue with thoracle in cedh/high power imo is because people dont main board stifle/etb hate. Stifle effects are just good to have in general, especially if they are a part of normal counterspells, like with void slime, tales end, and whirlwind denial. Tocatli honor guard, hushbringer, and the 3 drop one with flash all stop etb triggers. If you know you are playing on high power, and it doesnt stop your own deck, id suggest main boarding them because of the prevalence of thoracle so you have a chance against it, while also having the ability to deal with other pesky triggers as well. You know it is very strong, so build differently to play in the meta until it gets dealt with by being banned Just my opinion tho
