Zayn is one of the most iconic singers and the best vocalists of our generation. People really be sleeping on him because he likes to make music for his fans without promotion because he has issues with spotlight and anxiety. Having said that, he is still one of the top artists in the world regardless, speaks volumes about his talent. *Please give a listen to the acoustic version of the song by him, you will NOT regret it*

​@furandfeathers i think for this song Taylor does get her props. Zayn doesn't though. He and Antoff had the song already. She heard it and zayn asked her to be on it, she wrote or changed a verse. Taylor and Antoff are best buddies and for some reason did not credit Zayn. The director of the movie and zayn himself said this in interviews that zayn wrote the song then invited Taylor Swift. Its similar situation to Future who wrote Crazy in Love but Beyonce and Jay Z did not credit him as a song writer at all.

The original demo has the words “I know the fire is burning but I still feel nothing at all. You got this heavy heart turning just to (I can’t understand him) something for all to see” then Taylor was asked if she wanted to be on it and she wrote “I’m sitting eyes wide open and I got one thing stuck on my mind. Wondering if I dodged a bullet or just lost the love of my life” it was ZAYN song first because it was offered to him but he did not write a single lyric for it. He is just credited as lead vocalist. There’s always been misunderstanding between who got the song first and who wrote it. zayn was given the song and apparently he was the first choice and offered first and rest followed and tbh zayn made this song what it is , Taylor is also good but this song zayn made it magical .

Zayn wasn’t “given” the song. He wrote it and played it for the movie producer and book author and they loved it. He played it for Taylor and she said “I’d like to be on it”. He’s been in multiple interviews saying he wrote it. Do you honestly think her team would allow that if she had written it?? She was a feature on the song and nothing more. He even recorded, produced and edited his acoustic version!whichbi is even more beautiful than the one with Taylor feature. She has no demo for it. He has the original demo because he wrote it!

Yes he was given the song first and then she got added to it but he didn’t write or produce it. It was Sam dew and jack antonoff. Just like his other collaborations he’s not even a writer for them. Most pop music has about 5 demos of different artists before one wants it and it becomes their song even if they have zero writing credits. If you listen to the original demo you’ll see exactly what Taylor wrote for this song bc it’s not in his demo aka “I’m sitting eye wide open and I got one thing stuck on my mind, wondering if I dodged a bullet of just lost the love of my life” and so on.
