I can never stop listening to the honorable, respected, and learned Shaykh Yusuf. He never disappoints to amaze me! May Allah Azza Wa Jal, grant him a long wicket on this earth to assist in further attaining learnings from his knowledge, so dearly required, InshaAllah Ameen. Jazakallah Khairan Shaykh! Major characteristics: ★ His widespread savviness and command over the following arguably incomplete list of disciplines within the Religious (Islamic, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, etc.), Western and secular contexts: ⦿ Objective Qu'ran and Hadith Commentaries ⦿ Islamic and Westen Philosophy ⦿ Islamic and Western Politics ⦿ Islamic and Western History ⦿ Language & Linguistics, English in particular ⦿ Islamic and Western Literature, such as Shakespeare, etc. ★ His ability to skillfully navigate through the above. Then he carefully tries to connect the dots between them, i.e., gives the "big picture" ★ His ability to present with ease the complexities of the subject areas. ★ His eloquent use of the English language ★ The soothing and softness in his voice and smile, as opposed to a sermon delivered in Khutbah and on numerous Video Channels ★ His motivational skill is a class above the rest. I'm also amazed at the disparity of subscribers and the number of video views, between the lectures of Shaykh Yusuf and Mufti Menk. 112K vs. 2.45M - an astonishing 1:22 Mathematical Ratio. The above is by no means trying to discredit anyone since that would be arrogance, would cause of sin-able Fitna, of arguable an extremely high degree, apart of being way above my pay-scale, since it is only He that is The Judge! It shouldn't be one or the other, preferably both. It also shouldn't be about quantity, but rather quality. These are two platforms for different reasons or purposes that they serve. What can one read into the above Statistic mean? I wouldn't mind a take on this, please? Allahu A'alam

For a long time I wasn’t able to sit thru shaykh hamza Yusuf’s lectures. They are ilmi discourses, whereas other more popular speakers are not as dense. So I feel the disparity in your statistic is due to people not being able to actually understand what is being said. I had to really work up to this level where I’m able to firstly understand and thereafter enjoy what’s being said. Also its because the honorable shaykh hamza yusuf, his talks and lectures are much longer as I understand whereas other speakers their speeches have been made into short form and transmitted into other forms of content (like shorts/ TikTok’s) and THAT is what will get a lot of attention. People’s attention span nowadays is very short. They would rather swipe thru short form content than sit thru hours long lectures. To each his own. sadly those who are addicted to short form are missing out soooo much Allahu Akbar… may Allah bless shaykh Hamza Yusuf immensely ❤ Aameen

Jazakallahu Khairul ya Sheyh, Have you ever read any chapter from Risale-i Nur Collection of Bediuzzaman Sald Nursi who died at 1960. That collection is a contemporary commentary on Quran especially on the pillars of faith. Everybody can reach that logical and spiritual work through the free application.

The following are elements from the essence of Qur’an that a scholar has compiled: To get to know Allah Jalla Jalalahu, the Creator of the heavens and the earth; To know oneself, by getting to know the relationship between oneself and the Creator and His expectations from His slaves; To know the message of Islam and its purpose; To know Islam, God’s chosen way of life, and how to live according to its teachings; Stories of messengers and Prophets in order to take them as role models and imitate them; To introduce us to the kingdom of Allah and His sunnah (way of doing things) in His kingdom. This allows us to know if the kingdom of Allah will bear witness to our actions on the Day of Judgment or be a witness against us; To introduce us to the unseen creation of Allah including the jinns and angels; their roles, numbers, and abilities. It is in essence a manifestation of the powers of Allah and is referred to as Iman bil ghaib or faith in the unseen; To know the journey and to warn us against the hardships and enemies waiting for us along the way such as Shaytaan, our nafs (desires and temptations), love of this world, fear of the; unseen, weaknesses of our souls etc. Once we know about them, we can equip ourselves to deal with them properly; To relay the importance of the Love of Allah and the rights of the brotherhood among Muslims. A quintessential quality which we as a nation are deprived of today. The outcome of the journey of life and the two destinations: jannah or jahannam. If we spend our lives according to the message of Islam the reward is Jannah, if not then the destination is jahannam. One third of the Qur’an is dedicated to the description and delights of jannah and the horrors of jahannam.

السلام علیکم I'm confused about why Sh. Hamza referenced an opinion of a person who was a freemason. I believe Muhammad Abduh was the name referenced. According to his wiki page he was an open freemason. This is confusing as to his legitimacy? Please help. جزاک اللہ خیر

Why do we reference people like doctors/professors? Allah gives them knowledge too. Look into western universities.

@@blitz4493 and the other person who commented, of course there's no issues with that but they're not scholars of religion who have joined secret societies. For a lay person like myself or someone new to Islam, when wanting to. learn more it can get confusing when a Shaikh whom I hold to high regard is quoting from a freemason Muslim. I don't know. I'm just puzzled by it. Yes kmowledge is vast but when learning deen I'd like to take my religion from scholars that weren't in secret societies, if I didn't look him up I would never have known.

@@AS-mr9kx with my sincerest respect. I think it is best to stick on basic Islamic understanding first rather to go all the way up without basic knowledge. Since in the previous sessions, Syakh Hamza has addressed that the Ihya are for the general educated muslim masses. Nevertheless it is up to Allah to give wisdom to whom he wills
