@@messhugah8273 African, not celtic, me thinks. She used to start concerts with on ira and put this in to warm up her voice beforehand. She has done a cover of another African song, called wapi yo. That one is in lingala, a language used in Kongo / Zaire.

No problem. I didn't want to complain or anything. I just didn't want you to miss this. Zaz has easily the most beautiful personality I've every come across, from what you can see in those videos and the other ones you haven't seen, yet. It's so interesting to see that her musicians are those calm and cool professionals and she is always flying 3 ft. above the ground with all of the energy she has. I'm not an expert in French culture, but it seems to me that the French like to sing in pictures, always comparing something to another thing or a place that most people know. This is not the first time a chanson mentioned the Sixtine Chapel, for example. There are many chansons that name this and other places as metaphor or comparison to something. Maybe we have someone French here, who can explain it.

A successful song should arouse emotion in the listener. for that the artist has at his disposal his music his voice, and what he suggests by his words. If the text is too descriptive, it only affects those who have experienced the fact related. On the other hand, if it is suggested, then everyone can call up the image that suits them. To illustrate my point, if you say "we were hungry" that has less force than if you say "we only ate every other day" (in a song by C AZNAVOUR: La bohème). And everyone understood. Une chanson réussie doit susciter l'émotion chez l'auditeur. pour cela l'artiste a à sa disposition sa musique sa voix, et ce qu'il suggère par ses paroles. Si le texte est trop descriptif, il n'affecte que ceux qui ont vécu le fait relaté. En revanche, si elle est suggérée, alors chacun peut invoquer l'image qui lui convient. Bonjour! La Chapelle Sixtine a été construite au Vatican à Rome et contient de spendides fresques et peintures de Marie mère de JésusChrist. Très connus aussi dans le monde catholique les chants d' Ave Maria, peintures et sculptures des Vierge de la Pitié (Marie tenant son fils mort sur la Croix)en l'honneur de la Vierge Marie, sainte figure du catholicisme.
