I thought maybe she was going to change the lyrics too, in order to respond to them in the chorus : (crowd) "On t'aime !!! (Lara) Je VOUS aime (crowd) On t'aime !!! (Lara) Je VOUS aime" but she was too shocked to think of it, I guess. It's a beautiful surprise, and probably one of the best that an artist can dream of.

You are so right. I think the reason is because Lara is more than just another artist. Too many artists put on a persona, a character, and that always puts a barrier between the performer and the audience. Lara reminds me of Janis Joplin ( certainly not vocally they are radically different there) but in authenticity. They do not "perform" a song. Rather they inhabit it, they live it. When Lara sings she gives us herself. That takes extraordinary courage and it's the single most generous thing an artist can do. Lara is authentic and we love her for that. This audience was filled with people with beautiful souls, great love, compassion, empathy, and generosity, much like Lara herself. They authentically love her. They gave her a gift of love when she needed it the most like she gives her audience gifts of love every time she steps on stage. God bless them all!!! This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a very long time. I absolutely love it! This shows that humanity is truly capable of great compassion and love to one another. But like this audience all everyone needs to ever do is just give of themselves. Be selfless in sharing love and grace, compassion and mercy, empathy and encouragement, appreciation and gratitude. If we can all find opportunities every single day to do that we can undo so much of the division, angst, pain, and sorrow certain forces in this world try to create and we can thwart them by sowing seeds of healing, hope, peace, humanity, goodness and selfless love. In this way we break through the coldness and darkness with the warmth of light and goodness. These people show how little effort it takes for such a monumental outcome. This video is some 24 years old now but look how many tractors and watchers of reactors are being touched by it and how many of us are so positively impacted!!! Now what if all of us choose to make this a daily mission? Wow! The possibilities! I am fighting stage 4 metastatic cancer right now ... but ... and I would love, before I die, to see people in this world en masse choose to be this loving, self-sacrificial, and generous to each other. I could die happy knowing that good is winning the day. I strive with whatever time I have left to be one of those who everyday touches another soul with love, affirmation, grace, kindness, encouragement, and hope. This video helps keep me motivated too.

Depuis ça a bien changé non seulement elle n'est plus critiqué mais elle est reconnue comme une grande dame de la chanson. Il faut savoir qu'elle parle 5 langues, elle chante au moins dans 12 langues. De plus la plupart de ces chansons sont écrites par elle.

This song "Je T'aime" (I love you) is Lara’s original song, and probably is her most famous and well-known song around the world (along with “Adagio”). This video is from Lara’s concert “Nue” in Paris in 2002. It really shows how much Lara’s fans love and support her. Here is a short story behind that performance: Lara had some serious problems in her professional and personal life at that time (2000-2002); she even had suicidal thoughts. Her fans new about that and they wanted to express their love and support to Lara on her concert in Paris. A group of Lara’s fans approached her pianist and musical director Pierre Grimard before the concert and agreed that they will begin to sing that song "Je T'aime" before Lara. When they sang for her they changed the words «Je t'aime" (I love you) to “On t’aime” which means “We love you”. The entire audience (more than 6000 people!) sang for her. Can you imagine this? Lately Lara said that during this moment she realized the beauty of life, and that it’s really worth living it.

All of us who love to watch reactors do their thing with our favorite artists we really get excited when we see a reactor about to listen to a great, great video for the first time. Her marriage did not end, she was not married. This is a myth. There's another myth that a friend died, but her friend died a few years after this. She had been through tough times, her attempt to break into the US market failed and she was heartbroken by it. This album and concert were her comeback. This is just how much she is loved by her fans.

What makes it special is that it is a love song that is meant to be sung for the audience, but as the audience then sings for her, which then shows a mutual love between them. True love. And that honesty from the audience and Lara touches me. A once in a lifetime experience that we have fortunately been allowed to experience. How must it not have been and be in that concert hall when so many years later we can be as moved as many of us have become, by and watch that video.
