This is outstanding and quite dense with meaning. Multiple readings are required...and even then, you might miss something. I met Anzan Hoshin once in a bookstore where he was working back in the 1980s. He was an extremely self-absorbed and humorless character. Even when talking to others he looked like he was mumbling to himself. But I have to admit...he is one hell of a translator!

Oh, that's interesting to know! I am very grateful for his translation but it must sometimes be pretty intense work. Then again although I have never met Bill Porter, he seems like a pretty affable guy!
