This is what I like about 3d art, you struggle to understand something for months and then all of sudden someone comes in and brilliantly explains it so clearly, that it seems easy, thanks for letting me and others get into the first steps of Anatomy and creating Muscles. This is a great piece of tutorial. Great job Brendon, please bring some more.

Ah man, thanks for the awesome feedback bud. It's those comments that help keep me making more :) Glad you got some good stuff out of it.

Attention: Brendon Thank you so much for this video in particular, your lessons are well formulated and you leave nothing to question. Did I mention you are very thorough and explain everything in a way that can be understood. As I migrate from a career in engineering to one in 3D modeling, it is nice to see those teaching not speaking in "word salad" and responding with "a good engineer could understand" . Its truly a breathe of fresh air. in conclusion I want to say thank you for helping to make my transition less intimidating and easier on my already cluttered brain (physics, Dynamics, Thermo ... etc... etc) keep em coming good sir -hyburn

Coming from a beginner (me) i'm glad to find a tutorial like this one. Very useful ecorche sculp techniques. The rib cage sculp on the beginning reminds me of Grassettis` Anatomy tutorial, but I can tell that you give way more information in each step than he does. He can be an amazing sculptor but you are way better techer than he is. Well done and keep it going. PD: Just realized that this is from 2016, so i'll check your work to see how did you improved from this point to the one you are atm. Greetings from Spain dude.

Thanks for the feedback Callmedeno. Yes, planning on doing more anatomy vids very soon.

Also I forgot to say, doing cartoon or stylized sculpting and getting nice curves is difficult. If my res is too low I can't get the shape I want, if its too high it gets very muddy and bumpy. I guess I'm just hoping you do something for cartoonish sculpting in the future, cause your stuff is thorough and well explained. anyway look forward to seeing your new stuff!

What he's calling the Teres Major is actually the Infraspinatus muscle. The Teres Major is below the Infraspinatus and the Teres Minor is tucked between the two, usually not visible.

Hi, this is a great tutorial. I've been watching it constantly over the last three days to learn about anatomy. Just wonder what are the muscles that fit into the ribcage called? Not the Serratus muscles, the longer muscles that seem to fit into the rib cage that seem to fit between the serratus and abdominal muscles? Are they just an extension of the serratus or something? Kind regards, Brendan
@Brenners20107 жыл бұрын
Actually from looking at your video again and searching online I think it's just apart of the external obliques...Correct me if I'm wrong!

Newbie question here ... how do you save / open "body parts" to mesh them together and "build" a body ?

@kwas2447 жыл бұрын
I think you mentioned early in the video that you can also start with the skeleton and build up the muscles from there. What would be the advantage of that as opposed to just filling in the volume of the muscles?
@BrendonBengtson7 жыл бұрын
I'd say try it both ways and see what works best for you. Starting with the skeleton can definitely take much longer of you don't have the skeleton to start with. Michael Pavlovich actually just did this on his ZBrushLive vid. You can find it here: pixologic.com/zbrushlive/1-pavlovich-workshop-with-michael-pavlovich-3dmodeling-sculpting-artstation/

Hey Brendon, do you by any chance do this on pixo stream, after your god of war creature? something like facial anatomy for female/male and the difference, this was super easy to understand and even if you plan to make something like a paid tutorial sometime in the future, i would buy it, seriously thank you for this.
