Whever you buy the new or the old version, which are basically the same but with some aluminum parts in the new ver, you won't be able to order replacement parts. Some of them are available, but the most important ones, those who break easily, are not. Steering cups (8052) are already broken on mine, only after 2 runs. Banggood seller said some of them would be released soon, but soon might be a year. And diffs are known to be quickly worn-out...

Like the chassis with that kind of price . It looks almost the same as V2 but with RTR of a esc120A while V2 RTR is 80A. Other than that, can’t tell any more differences. I think with chassis without electronic for V2, u can be upgrade to V3 and also get the body V3 also.

It would cost more to up grade the V2 to a V3 because of all the Anodized metal (Aluminum) parts instead of plastic, the 120a esc & better motor then V2 & it's only around $40 more for the V3 then a V2!

You can mainly find parts on aliexpress. There was a webshop in US, emphobby, which sell ZD racing parts, but he got back feedback recently. I would never use this truck on 6s. The differentials doesn't have the size of most of the 1/8 scales, the drive train isn't purpose to be use on 6s,, claim this, is for commercial advertising.. + I would never put big soft pack batteries in a so small battery tray (yes the battery tray is the smallest you can find in a 1/8, only 138mm long, 2s hardcase are even very tight inside). But for the today price, less than 300$, it can be nice, if you don't expect to bash it like a better brand.

@@NobodyNoWhereElse Your absolutely right - No way it can handle 6S even the Vkar Bison DHK Zombie or the Great JLB Cheetah 120a extreme were never made to handle a 6S lipo because the suspension components & frame parts will shortly fall to pieces even with a 120a Esc and a 1800 or 2000Kv motor the rest of these can't hang with 6S... If I bought the ZD racing 9116 V3 it would only be used on 4S but it's still a great deal for less then $280 with shipping so will still get the Arrama Kraton for an exclusive 6S basher! Still love your reviews! : )

He does something not many people do on here....He takes apart the whole truck and gives detailed info on all the parts. Such a great channel. Also check out Japan rc adventures. He runs his dhk maximus on 6s 😁

This truck looks nice but I have heard nothing but horror stories about their cheap pot metal diffs that do last at all. Now maybe they addressed that with this new version. I'd definitely wait for time to tell. Also you are right about parts stevo. I love my cheetah but I absolutely hate having to wait 2-3 weeks on parts to come. It was my first hobby grade truck but now that I own a bunch of rc's I'm not worried about the wait anymore. You will definitely be able to find parts it's just a matter of how long the wait. It be cool to see one on your channel. I'd be something not many other yters have.

Jake there are actually 4 versions of 1/8 scales the 9116 80a V1 the 120a V2 - 9116 & 08427 model #'s of exact same truck and then there's the new 9116 V3. Banggoods 9116 V3 has a 4274 1800kv motor rated for max voltage of 25volts (6S) while Gearbest 9116 V3 has a 4068 2150kv motor 23volts max so no 6S or barely? The 08427 model Pirate V2 120a 4068 2000kv motor which also has max voltage of 23volts So you decide ! All are bad-ass and can handle 4S awesomeness!

So, I'm looking at these at www.banggood.com/search/zd-racing-pirates-2.html and noticed they have four variants. So, I know there is a top speed difference, but I also noticed the 4th one having different collored exteriour as well as bright metal internals. Not sure if those metal internals replaces plastics, or if theese parts are black metal on the other three? The price tag is about the same, and I want to buy one that lasts as long as possible, but it's for my kids as well so I think 80kph is more than enough. Is it possible to limt the top speed ? Also, I find it a little strange the original price of the fastes one with more metal internals seeams to cost less, anyone recon why?
