This song is so much fun, a natural anti-depressant! I wasn't keen on "Sugar" last year and would have much rather seen Croatia or Romania qualify instead. But anyway... this year Moldova sent a great entry and I don't understand why it's in so many people's bottom 5 or 3! Ethnic and punk? Yes please!!! This makes me feel a little Slavic, and I'm Italian! 😂

Revisiting this reaction and you were spot on with literally everything you said… from them bringing rock/folk together, only 2 jokey acts qualifying from semifinal 1, to Moldova elevating with their stage show and getting a good result… Maxxy Rainbow can predict the future 😅😅😅

Stephen the Great ( or the Holy as is sometimes named ...he built " n " monasteries :-) ) was the Moldavian King in the 15th century . He had so many wars with various invading forces that we lost count . Something like 42 of which he lost only 3-4. In his time , Moldova was from Carpathian mountains to the Nistru river ( and beyond in some places ) . Basically it was the Romanian Moldova and the Moldavian...Moldova. He is cherished in both countries as a great patriot and ruler.

This song has a political hint , the lyrics can be fully understood only by Moldovan and Romanian citizens, even if the lyrics would be translated to English , one wouldn't understand the meaning of the song , if you don't know the history of Moldova and Romania. The meaning is that there are these two countries Romania and Moldova that in the past was one country , united and divided for several times throughout the history. The train shows that the passenger takes off from Chisinau (Moldova's capital city ) and travels to Bucuresti (Romania's capital city), they say that it looks like you go abroad, because we have different passports and have to pass the customs at the border , but at the same time they say it is like going from home to the same home, because we have the same language, the same traditions and the same history, the same kings in the past. They never pronounce in the song the names of the countries but this song is a programming for the reunification of these two countries. The traveler says that we are brothers but see each other one time in a hundred years , this phrase also has a political hint because once in a hundred years Moldova and Romania unite again in a single country , or divide again into two countries. That carpet has on it the portrait of the Great Stephan , a king of to both Moldova and Romania in 15 hundreds. And was a hero, and declared saint because he protected the orthodoxy , during his rule years he was in 50 battles against the Otoman Empire from which he won 47 of them. So it is a National hero for both Moldova and Romania. This song definitely sounds strange for foreigners but is plays with the feelings of both moldovans and romanians. It has a greater emotional charge than it seems at first sight.

I do not understand the reason for your aggression? what did Moldova do to you? I see your comments in half two videos. That comment on the song's reaction, that you hate it, was clearly superfluous. This song means a lot to Moldova. and hating just because of your tastes is stupid and childish. Albania did not perform much better than Moldova. do not elevate only what you liked or only your country. All countries performed excellently. And before writing something like that, it is best to think about whether it is worth writing? should be at least a little bit of education and tolerance. such comets unfortunately show your bad manners

@@Eggplant_Emoji That's just hatred for the song is aggression. You can say that you just didn't like the song and that's it. But to say that you hate her is at least bad manners. The song of moldova has a historical significance both for moldova and for romania. You may not like her, everyone has different tastes, but to say that you hate her is at least bad manners.
