My home country of New Zealand is the tip of something much bigger... the Earth's eighth continent! This video summarises its history and geology, using the very latest maps published by GNS (Geological and Nuclear Sciences).

As if all of the information contained in this great video wasn’t enough, the fault zone south of the South Island, known as the Macquarie Fault Zone, is showing numerous signs that it is undergoing a major transformation known as “subduction zone initiation”. Its northern and southern ends, the Puysegur and Hjort sections, are already showing signs of underthrusting and Macquarie Island in the middle is one of the most geologically unique islands in the world.

I am utterly blown away. Thank you for an understandable explanation of the discovery of this continent. Truly staggering.

Nice music, but it makes me relax to the point of sleeping. It becomes harder to focus, and since I love (and miss) the kiwi accent, it acts as ASMR ^^

Mind you. If the oceans have evaporated, there won't be any life sustaining Resources....Hmm!. Thanks for the knowledge. 👍🍻

So In the future Our great, great grandchildren will reside on the continent known as the United States of Zealandia when oceans evaporate revealing our new lands to be explored with plenty of minerals, Resources, precious metals, if any.

Interesting questions! I imagine Zealandia would have been colonised by humans soon after Australia was, around 40,000 years ago, since the two continents nearly touch at the northwest corner of Zealandia.

Why would you say there was no Atlantis, just because you have not seen it yet? Kinda makes me dismiss anything else you might say.

Why would you believe a myth told by Plato about a civilization created by half god half humans?Yet deny pure science based on theories researched by scientists and scrutinized by their peers to become accepted.
