What I think happened was that Void and the rest of the deathsquad came in a drop ship to kill the members of the AGENCY but crashed. After the crash, they were engaged by a horde of reikgons and the deathsquad was killed. On the mountain, Void was fighting on his last limb against the reikgons. After his attempt to kill the reikgons, he was killed and had his soul taken by reikgon leaving his empty hardsuit as the last thing remaining of him. I might be wrong but this seems to be the most likely thing that happened.
