Of all my pots (and yes, I have too many) my 12cm Zebra is my most favourite. Thanks for sharing Steve

I saw one of your (pathfinder?) Pots with handles on the back and pot holder on top that did seem to be more multi use. But yeah this is a good little solo pot

Zebra Billy can is really meant to be used as a Asian lunch box, in certain parts of Asia they, serve hot take away foods for the work force in large numbers, so they have to be robust and kept hot. The only place I've seen them for sale with the metal clips with them is the bushcraft store in London, there a few pound more than the plastic ones.
@BackcountryKing6 жыл бұрын
I think I know what you mean but the zebra billy can is not stackable and quite heavy at a pound so not really good for portable meals. The clips don't add much more weight but its worth replacing the cheap plastic ones which I don't even understand why they made them plastic

Backcountry King Outdoors I think when he says pounds, he means pounds sterling. The currency in Britain, not added weight.

Agreed Steve ,they make a great pot!👍👍

It's a good pot... not as used anymore as I mainly use my heavy cover set but it still has its place in my kit from time to time

@@BackcountryKing I tend to use a nesting pot with my ss nalgene bottles more, although I dusted off the billy pot on my latest vid😏

Another piece of kit that I don't have. I've eyed them up a few times but bought a Snowpeak Titanium Solo set instead. Liked the review Steve. Keep them coming !!
@BackcountryKing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks brother!!! I don't use it as much anymore as my canteen kit does the same job but it's a nice piece of kit!

Also I'll take titanium anytime over stainless - I'd say you made the right choice

Nice review Steven. I've heard nothing but good things on this Zebra Billy Can as well as removal of those plastic pieces. lol...you would think that the makers would improve that by now. haha...I ended up with the Self Reliance Outfitters 48oz(2oz shy of that) cup myself, since it's just for one, maybe even two. But yah bud, another great review...short and to the point. See you on the next, Cheers brah!

I'm the same way now bro ... usually for solo my canteen cook cup is more than enough so I rarely bring this out anymore unless cooking for two. You and I know that any kit that is more than one purpose (cup, pot, coffee mug) is better than a pot like this. I've also heard good things about the self reliance kit

I have both the 12 and 14 cm pot. Both came with the plastic clips. But I went and made some crude metal clips. Also own the 14 cm zebra lunch box which I had for years. Great pots.

these pots are used for packing lunch in asia not cooking hence the plastic clips

Yes but they are sold and promoted in North America as "bush pots"

Can you take the lid off when the bail is up?
@BackcountryKing5 жыл бұрын
No when the bail is up it gets locked in place by the clips

"Dear Steven Thank you for you review. We only stock these with the plastic clips, the metal version could form a pressure cooker causing the lid to pop off. This could potentially result in boiling liquids to spray over the user."
