Learning from your mistakes and becoming a better player as a result is what’s important. It’s easy for others to play armchair quarterback when watching these videos, but too often forget that you have to start somewhere and that getting better is a process, not something that just happens.
@xcver6 жыл бұрын
While that may be true, there is basically no excuse to forget Atraxa's Proliferate. It is the sole reason you play this commander as there are 5c Commanders who would be better for superfriends if it weren't for the proliferate. Also if you play dedicated cards such as doubling season you should also know that that doubles the proliferate as well. There were not many permanents on the field.

Remember, people... mass land destruction as a finisher is no different than winning through a combo. Also, complaining about mass land destruction but not about Muddstah's Decree of Silence + Solemnity lock, which would've also stopped everyone but him from playing the game, is hypocritical.
@Millionsofpeas6 жыл бұрын
With Trevor's boardstate they should have conceded with the MLD on the stack though. There is no way to come back from that.
@orsettomorbido6 жыл бұрын
I personally would argue that MLD is even worse than a combo, because the game is dragged along for a couple turns after that, in which all the players but one don't play even if they are technically playing.
@DarkEinherjar6 жыл бұрын
Considering they lasted four rotations before Ugin's ultimate, if they had drawn lands during those turns and Jace's emblem wasn't there, there would still be hope. Then again, they only lasted four rotations because Trevor forgot about Atraxa's triggers (which would put twice as many counters thanks to Doubling Season).
@AnonYmous-mc5zx6 жыл бұрын
MLD is only a problem when its for the sake of giving you time to search for some win con. Its the same as taking infinite turns. Its why whenever it happens in our playgroup the individual doing it usually follows up with how they actually intend to win the game. Like my Taigam deck will often dual cast Expropriate to get 2+ extra turns, wherein I also explain "this is so I can give my creatures 'haste' and swing out" pointing at either a board full of constructs or a board full of their best creatures I confiscated due to the spell...or both. Ive had it happen where a whole table gave me 4 or 5 extra turns instead, at which point I had to waste time setting up the win con the long way via aetherflux reservoir and/or metalurgic summonings.

lepinz1223 Helm of Obedience mills someone until they hit a creature card or x number of cards determined by how much was paid into activating Helm’s ability. Since Rest In Peace is there, the graveyard basically doesn’t exist and the Helm will mill out the opponent because no cards will be in their graveyard, therefore, the Helm can’t check for any cards in the graveyard to stop milling.

Right! I mean a kalemne that can hit for lethal on turn 5, or a karlov with the right pieces. Even throw an army deck in there, some tribal that avalanches on itself. With decks like that you are forced to adjust, if you don't have a blocker on turn 4, well, thats 14 commander or 22 total. It's also fun to see the guy in the crystal tower who always wins sit there with his mouth wide open as you killed him before he even started assembling his machine.

Summary of this game: "Man, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is a pretty powerful card...maybe if we all ignore him, he'll go away." Yeah, I'd say the big thing that lost you this game was not killing Trevor when you had the chance. It doesn't matter if your two opponents were combo decks seeing as Solemnity + Decree of Silence means that nobody can cast spells anyways, and the answer that you already knew about to any of your combo pieces, Venser, is also shut off by Torpor Orb anyways. Watching you fail to take out the one player who had any chance of answering you and then get summarily punished for it was confusing to say the least, and at that point I think the Catastrophe just let him win more. Can't imagine how much Trevor's eyes must have lit up in person when you declared Matt as the target of the Helm.
