If it wasn’t for the 1st episode cementing that Ruby didn’t go to Signal, I thought it would’ve been the keystone to what Ruby was doing while away from her family. But in this case it makes me wonder where she was taught to fight and where was her weapon made. Both answers would be her uncle teaching her the basics, but at what point did Ruby gain this independence streak and attempt to set out on her own if she relied on Qrow so much for training, weapon maintenance, and providing at least a semblance of stability to together? Even if explained later Ruby and Qrow didn’t have the best relationship, but that divide between them must’ve started somewhere for her to set out on her own and live on the street, for an unknown length of time as well, making me wonder how Yang and Qrow reacted to such an event. I can only assume the day she left, Qrow was probably too busy and or too stubborn to try and stop her from leaving, and Yang was hoping she would just come back soon and later find other ways to occupy herself while her sister was away. But it all comes back to the timeline of how long Ruby was gone, a few days? A week? A month? Several months maybe?! These are the questions that keep me up at night.
