In 2023 China exported just over 3500 billion yuan worth to the USA. Making the USA its third largest export partner. There is really very little in it between EU, ASEAN and USA. Losing any one of these markets would be significant as exports represent around 19% of China's GDP. If they lost USA and EU that woukd be around 7000 billion yuan annually as per 2023 data.

These considerations assume that China could be interested in starting a war. The problem is, I can’t see any reason why China would desire a war. It seems more likely that if they are indeed preparing and studying such measures, it’s primarily to protect themselves from a potential attack.

My condolence to the Native Red Indians, their land have been robbed. The few who survived the massacre can only move to the poorest lands. As US expanded from the east coast to the west coast, treaties were broken, and the reservations have some of the highest poverty rates. Some reservations have opened gambling casinos as their main industry. A large number of the Navajo (largest reservation ) live without electricity or running water.

@maxpower39902 сағат бұрын
What would they gain in Russia? They already get some oil from Russia, the area north of China isn’t good farmland, there’s very few people there and little infrastructure to get any raw materials from those areas back to China to be refined and used by the Chinese population. Russia and China have been discussing building a pipeline for oil and gas for years but neither wants to pay for it and it would take over 10 years to build.

In addition, you didn't cover other US allies would cut them off also... so they would be reliant on Russia, and pockets in Africa and South America if they can figure out transport. Plus India could take the opportunity to resolve their border issues with China. Only countries thay can get into a conflict and have a chance are Laos, Cambodia, and Mongolia. China produces the vast majority of the world’s antimony, which is used to harden ammunition. They have also, now, the world’s largest drone carrier. Although dwarfed by legacy US assets, the Y-10 torpedo has equipped the PLAN with a meaningful conventional deterrent for a whole lot of boats. The US v. China showdown is going to be a lot closer than either side wants to admit. At least, that’s what I train for.

@@fuzzjunkythe point is that no one will fare well from it but China will lose more as they rely on trade to feed and fuel their country and make the money required to buy those things. The Germans found out in both World Wars that being blockaded chokes your nation, economy and people. Along with their rapidly aging population they won’t survive a long war, let alone win it.

@@fuzzjunky I'm legit interested in your thinking here. You tell us 'completely removed from reality' and what do you mean by that? Do you mean, as Peter explains, he doesn't actually think China will get in a hot war with the USA but is giving a 'hypothetical'. Of course, its not "reality" because China has just stated a hot war with the USA. Or, Do you mean its 'completely removed from reality' in that China has WAY WAY more of those resources stockpiled, not just 'some more' but so much more that you'describe his figures as 'completely removed from reality'? and, What did you mean by you don't see the Americ 'faring well from any of it'. This seems a bit wishful thinking. China's strategy re Taiwan is really taking shape. They recently launched a drone-carrier. I anticipate their strategy will be something along the lines of "Blockade Taiwan in a wide encirclement" (already seen multiple practice runs of this), followed by mass drone strikes (in the thousands per day) to whittle down AA capabilities), followed by missile strikes on strategic targets like C&C, power infrastructure and military assets (especially anti-naval assets), followed by an amphibious landing. Taiwan doesn't have the strategic depth that Ukraine has, and will be more difficult to supply than Ukraine has been. And a lot of the West relies on Taiwan for semiconductor production, so it will significantly harm our military capabilities too. ASML has years worth of orders in the waiting list, we can't just pop out another massive chip manufacturing plant like them within a couple of years.

You forget some things. The reality is that if China takes a hit USA will also(the world takes a hit if China takes one), if Trump keeps up his threats against allies then China might find a way out while USA suffers alone. Currently after Trumps and Musks statements I would probably rather trade with China than USA(invading another Nordic country was not even funny, you do not say stuff like that plus that he already last time said "Ain't Finland part of Russia". YOU DO NOT SAY THINGS LIKE THIS AS A LEADER OF A COUNTRY). Don't think I am alone in Europe so Trump is walking on a very thin ice when it comes to going after China. Not to talk about the 2 years of Ukraine being only Europes problem when it was USA that aided Soviet during WW2 saving the Kremlin from collapsing already back then. So even if you in USA think Trump is so great, hes not liked at all over here and the more power he gets over there the less chance of us really wanting to even be seen as "allies" and maybe more "We do not know who that guy is, like who invited him" would be a more comfortable position for us. Also the global warming could force the world to change system to a new one and USA will not willingly accept a system that doesn't benefit the wealthy. There is a chance we need to introduce a system that benefits "a livable planet" so this last breath of the right wing propaganda is here but it gets harder for them every year to deny the consequences of constant growth/profit. My point is that in a realistic view of the world we either move away from oil, thus making most countries self sufficient in power or at least only dependent on a neighbor transferring it through power lines or then we move to a world most can't even imagine not understanding that we can't fight it by trying to combat its effects. Current prediction is that in 5-10 years renewable energy has passed fossil if the growth rate keeps up, thanks to China it will but USA sure wants to make more profits from it and slow it down. I know China is one bad thing after another, but so is USA and only becoming worse. Almost like Russia now grasping for its last breath of air the wealthy in USA tries to go for global dominance that will only force Europe to work with China to take you down. Accept that the fossil days are over and that the world need to move to a more sustainable future.
