Zeiss New ClearView Lenses Product Video. A Review of Features and Benefits

Today we will be talking about the latest Product, ClearView Lenses from Zeiss. Zeiss has launched ClearView FreeFrom Technology based new Stock Single Vision Lenses. Zeiss is a 175 year old company from Germany with the latest technology in Optics. They are also leading in Medical technology, smartphone chip manufacturing also.
In this video we will learn about Zeiss ClearView Lens design, features and it's benefits to the spectacle wearer. We will also compare them with regular spherical, aspherical, double aspherical lenses in terms of vision, fields of view, and thinness.
ClearView is available in BlueGuard and Clear lenses with Duravision Platinum coating in 1.56, 1.61, 1.67 and 1.74 indexes.

Both are MR8 in 1.6 index. Zeiss makes only MR8 for high index 1.6

My power is: -1 sph, -0.25 cyl (20 axis) for right eye & -1.75 sph, 0 cyl (0 axis) for left. For this should I go for: 1) ClearView vs Non-ClearView FSV. For a low power like me, do I really need ClearView? 2) I hear that ClearView is overly clear, meaning it is too sharp / uncomfortable. Is it? 3) Aspherical vs Spherical 4) Which index between 1.5, 1.56, 1.6 should I choose & why? I am very confused and willing to skip features (such as cosmetic features) which do not add much value in my case.

For your power, you can go for regular FSV. If your frame size is too large, then aspheric will help in reducing peripheral vision distortion. Otherwise, regular spherical FSV would be fine. Index wise, 1.5 is good.

Zeiss Clearview SV lens gives more field of view and clarity for high powers. It is made with freeform technology hence it performs better than regular single vision lens. For your power it is suggested you go for Zeiss Clearview Blueguard Duravision Platinum UV

The lens will have a Z laser mark.

Individual Single vision is a freeform technology based made to measurements customized lens. Clearview is just a freeform based lens.
