Thank you for the video. I have seen other videos on replacing these gaskets in the N55, but yours is the easier and straight forward. Other mechanics were removing the intake manifold and charge pipe entirely, and some flushing the entire colling lines, the way you did it saves a couple of hours work or more and is still clean and safe. But as for the aftermarket gaskets, unfortunately the BMW genuine ones are the best way to go, because since when BMW realized that their gaskets (made in Germany or Italy) were failing too early, they decided to get them done in Japan, (apparently Japanese cars hardly have gasket issues as the European ones). So, the gaskets BMW installed at the factory for these engines were initially made in Germany, but the one we can buy today are made in Japan and will likely last 100k miles. Also, they do not cost 50-60 bucks each anymore, they are just 10 dollars more expensive than the aftermarket. Cheers.

Hi Tim , Great job sir, you make it look easy ( well you are very use to Professionally doing these vehicles and can probablt do thes BMW s "with you eyes closed ) !! hahahahaa OK... Well it looks like my oil filter housing gasket is leaking again..... i did mine about,i think 3 years ago (60 thousand kilometers ago)... very disappointing to have to do this job again.... the problem/thing is i do have a new mahle gasket ( Made in Vietnam),as i knew it was goona happen again. After some thought..... I m looking at this whole picture......it must be the gasket material that these gaskets are manufactured out of itself, that is,well.ill call "junk" gaskets, I did do lots of working on cars with my dad and then my own cars since old enough to drive a vehicle... In my area the Auto Parts, gaskets sold gaskets such as :: Felpro Gaskets. Victor Gaskets and McCord Gaskets... i cannot remembering having to be continuously, redoing same jobs over and over on the same vehicle....im wondering if should or could get a OFG gasket kit for another brand/ Company?? ( as i said i do have a Mahle Gasket to do this job now.but the problem is,its going to fail again for sure in the future... i dont mind doing work, but having to continually redo it every so many years....is annoying. What are you thoughts and input about hese gaskets ? ty sir. Continue to post excellent VIDEOS!!! TY

Thank you, yes it is the same procedure on your f15 with slight miscellaneous differences, price range is very different from state to state and shop to shop, very wide between 500$ to 1600$ or you can diy and spend just 50$ for parts😉

I don’t like p-codes those are not accurate, check your pcv hose on bank1, might be easy fix, but you’ll need proper diagnostic otherwise impossible to tell remotely

Great content, very informative. I just did my valve cover, spark plugs, coil packs and OFHG on my 2013 BMW X5 N55. I also cleaned my solenoid valves while I was there as it was very easy to access with the radiator fan removed. I noticed you did not replace the intake manifold gaskets. Is that not required when reinstalling? Thank you for posting these awesome videos, it is very much appreciated!!!

Well, the best way is to remove mickey mouse house (consider it will break) and use proper socket to remove the bolt, you might need to hammer it in

If you are a master mechanic, I will never let you work on my car. Complicated un-needed messy things you did in preparation and afterwards not methodical/clean/detailed at all. That is why I am VERY suspicious of bringing my car anywhere unless is a must and no other choice.
