Zekvir Tier ?? Kill and Guide - 612ilvl Unholy Death Knight Solo (Let Me Solo Him achievement)

Recorded on 27/09. Took me around 20 tries after the hotfix, I turbo ran it before the hotfix and couldnt get it down. After the hotfix nerfs to Zekvir today it's much more doable for most classes. Even though I'm a death knight, many other classes can now approach the fight using the mentality of saving cds for eggs, having a plan to deal with the poison slowing DoT and trying to bait claws away from the egg if you need to. I feel like my commentary could have been better, but let me know if you didn't understand anything.

Thanks for the video. I have been struggling with this fight, and unfortunately, after watching your video, I learned that I've not been doing anything wrong. This fight is totally RNG. Even if you do everything right, Brann can just sometimes not cleanse the DOT off you, even if he isn't feared. Sometimes he just won't do it. This means that I will eventually kill the fight if I keep consistently trying, but I am at the mercy of Brann doing what he needs to do. It's an awful mechanic and if they just made it happen half as frequently it would be fine, but my AMS literally can't deal with it. Dogshit fight, and I even completed the mage tower challenge on every spec back in Legion.

Did it today on my 619 frost dk, heres what I can contribute: His rotations can be a bit rng but he will never repeat same ability twice. Horror spawns are random across the room if he didnt claw smash recently you wanna pull him to the horror hatching because you dont wanna get caught with your pants down in a wide cone when killing horror or you will likely get 1 shot. Managing horrors is basically everything because rest is just dodging mechanics which is why for eg I kept pillar and reaper for it and happily enough he spawns horrors about the 45 sec cd mark so you will always have it up and basically negate that rest is just safety dance and its pretty fast paced you need to keep your cool on my kill attempt I ate a fear at 6 mil my heart stopped but I was lucky, in second phase tiniest mistake means wipe as almost every ability will 1 shot you except the dot. I had a bit of a dicier clear at i611. I tried with your build but since I wasn't quite used to it, it didn't work as well. Then I switched to the Disease build and slowly but surely got through. Some of the add spawns were very dodgy and I didn't manage to kill them before they hatched but with Blinding Sleet, Death Grip and a bit of luck, I managed to get through them.

Good job. Unholy is the only DK spec I didn't try ?? after the nerfs due to me being a tank main and therefore having zero haste. I don't think it's doable as a tank due to low damage output on the eggs, but _maybe_ as Frost if the stars align due to weird spell sequencing RNG.

I have a friend who did it as blood dk, this is his character: worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com/en-gb/character/us/jubeithos/orkky You'd want Brann as a dps (same relics as I used) and just save cds for eggs. Deathbringer marrowrend procs chunk the egg really hard, so it can be worth to hold them for the egg and just slow and steady the boss. Phase 2 if brann isn't up for the egg is defs the hardest for blood, but he can still sometimes use final will while he is down, which helps a lot for the egg.

Yeah it can be rough, defs need cds for the egg. I also use a /petattack macro to direct my pets to the egg as I'm running to them

Legit just go frost even with suboptimal stats and 2h you can easily do it cause if the on demand damage… I was really disappointed as a long time unholy main tbh

@@w829l5 Yeah, shame that dk cant do that with wraith walk either. You're right about the DoT being tied to the slow, arms warrior for example was the first melee to kill zekvir after the brann nerfs (before this most recent tuning) partly because of that.

The fight is too RNG based. most of it depends on what Brann is doing and where he is standing. his frontals are also random/depend on where Brann is standing, what skills he casts are also random, no fight is the same as the last which proves the randomness. It's a stupid fight. I feel bad for the people who have done 100's of attempts. Blizzard needs to do better and actually test their "hotfixes" and mechanics. It is clear with how this fight has gone that they don't test anything. But yet we'll keep pumping these clowns billions of dollars a year. LUL

It can be rng with the frontal claw onto brann, but you just always play like it's going to go on you. Long as you keep him near the middle, you should have enough time to dodge the claw, but need to be extra careful if you have the poison slow too. I feel like after the recent hotfixes it's much more approachable.

What Ive noticed the most is that some times bran doesnt put down pots when the fight starts, and doesnt until I die. Sometimes bran doesnt dispell at all, others hes the fastest gun in the west. The order Zekvir casts his abilities isn't always the same, the heal and the claw change up sometimes. And the most annoying to me is the claw hitbox, its bigger then the visual, if I stand just outside the edge of the fear I dodge it, if stand 5 feet away from the claw i get hit. Almost everything being a one shot and the randomness of both the boss and brann make this a pain in the ass... Got him to 40% a couple of times with around 50 tries at 596 FDK but i think i need more gear still. If I dont get right on the egg when it spawns with Pillar I can't kill it, and sometimes if I do zekvir claws me from across the room and Ive no way out

I think warror is SUPA good for it with the charge talent removing the poison DoT and bladestorming immuning the appplication it deals with the DoT easily. Their mobility for the egg is too. The healing is the problem tho so need to rely on brann's potion things a lot.

Amorphous relic (from Brann) rolled hp+dmg (the up arrow buff) and dk stamina talent. The haste+movespeed is still really good if the relic gives that instead.
