Zelda 3: (Pt. 3) A Link To The Past

Although when exploring dungeons the small keys that you collect are only specific to that dungeon, you can skip a good portion of the dungeons and save up keys to beat the dungeon early by using the mirror; a lot of the locked doors are areas that are usually either dead ends/meaningless or can be left unopened with the use of the mirror in an otherwise one-direction loop (due to the previous room, for example, that you came from is now locked fully and unopenable from the room you are now in). The Forest Dungeon in this game with the Moth Boss is a great example as a dungeon where you can skip and save up keys for Doors that are more important towards progress, although other Dungeons are able to be exploited with the Mirror Trick.

It would be cool if you made a short series of videos talking about how the Zelda series has changed overtime in terms of lore (most of which being widely accepted fanon, with what’s actually in the games not making much sense when taken as a series and Nintendo retcons a bunch of stuff every now and then. In a way it’s like Elder Scrolls lore where fun gameplay comes first and lore/story is mostly just an afterthought. Sadly, that makes it so all these cool ideas the settings have don’t really go anywhere and as the leadership changes so does the overall vision), gameplay, the meta, and other stuff like that. Along with clearing up different misconceptions fans have. Do you think you might do that at some point, or probably not? If you have any interest in Star Fox and want a fun experience Nintendo won’t give you then you should really check out this really cool mod for Freespace Open (open source Freespace 2 engine so it’s 100% free. The only thing it would cost you is time) called Star Fox Event Horizon. It’s a reimagining of the 64 continuity that uses characters and ideas from all three “timelines”/reboots. Along with cut content to flesh things out. The guy making it UndyingNephalim (changed his KZbin name to IceCreamMan for whatever weird reason recently) has done an insane amount of work on it. So far the 64 arc is mostly done. He just has to make some balancing changes, add voice acting where needed (he got in contact with Estelle Ellis Krystal’s original voice actress and she’s going to do work for his mod), finish up certain levels, and a few other things. The mod is super cool. Unfortunately there’s no on rails sections since the guy doesn’t really like those, the ability to hop in and out of vehicles like Assault isn’t possible within the engine (luckily he got ground missions and enemies working somehow), and the vehicles can’t transform like in 2/Zero. If he could add those (along with some narrative changes) it would be the definitive Star Fox experience. Hopefully Nintendo don’t take it down (somehow it and his Zelda rts have been going for over a decade and they haven’t taken either down yet).
