I actually really liked this moment, I got that awkward "woahh wtf" feeling from it. It was abnormal and creepy, which is what I totally think they were going for. Ganondorf just got his hands on the key to ruling Hyrule, and he makes THAT face. It's a moment of triumph for Ganondorf, and all he can do is smile like a lunatic.

Not exactly, whilst Odin used his disguise to worm into the main cast's plans and life so he could learn when they wanted to attack Asgard and then remove them once that time came, This disguise was made to distract Sonia and Zelda so Ganondorf could steal the stone without either of them expecting more at the moment.
