Personally, I really find it interesting how often Din's Fire needs to be used in Ocarina of Time 3D's Master Quest, and not just in the Shadow Temple.

@TheOwnersOfTriforce8 жыл бұрын
It's sort of cool, but also...sort of not, I guess? xD It can be annoying sometimes in how you actually destroy the item you switch position with sometimes, and other times not, meaning that you sometimes won't be able to go back the same way, and other times it might just be a tiny bit annoying that the objects are still there, especially if you need to use it several times within the same screen. It's a nice little twist from the Hookshot, though.

Nice video! :) I definitely more enjoy the unique items in Zelda to the reoccurring ones, because they feel so creative at times. 10: Stepladder: I found this to be a very useful item to help me through dungeons, so I do like it. (Nice MLG air horns btw) 9: Spinner: I was kinda surprised to see it so low, but I understand since it's not very useful. I love using it in Arbiters Grounds! 8: FW, DF, NL: I do like using dins fire, but I rarely use the other two. I like the concept of the spells though, and it was an interesting addition to the set of items. 7: Rod of Seasons: I love this item because it's such an interesting idea! It's one of the coolest things you can do in Zelda, and it's a lot of fun. 6: Medallions: I agree that these are better than the spells in oot, because I find myself consistently using them, especially bombos. You were right that they look AWESOME in a 16-bit game! 5: Deku Leaf: This is one of my personal favorite items, because you can use it to get to so many interesting places, and it's used in such a variety of ways! 4: Magnetic Gloves: I LOVE these things! They're such a cool concept and they're used in such a cool variety of ways! I wish they returned in more Zelda games. 3: Beedle: Another one of my favorite items! It's such a cool and fun way to explore the areas of Skyward Sword. I also love the hook beetle and dropping bombs on those weird creatures that live in the sand. 2: Lens of Truth: I sorta like this item, but definitely not as much as you guys do. It was cool to find little secrets in the Shadow Temple, but it felt kinda useless later on in both oot and mm. Just my opinion though, and I can see why the concept is cool. 1: Ball and Chain: YES!!! This is my favorite item in the series! You know how much I love Snowpeak Ruins, and this AMAZING item is a huge part of the reason. It's so satisfying to hit things, especially redeads and Blizzeta. Great choice!!! Here's my personal top ten: 10: Magic Spells from OoT 9: Ocarina of Time 8: Rod of Seasons 7: Magnetic Gloves 6: Magic Rod (Links Awakening) 5: Spinner 4: Goron Mask 3: Beedle 2: Deku Leaf 1: Ball and Chain Can't wait for the top five mini dungeon themes! Hoping to see Ancient Castle of Ikana and Pirate Fortress! :)

Thanks! Yes, we had fun making this list. It was very interesting looking back at all these great items :D 10. Glad you can agree on this. Haha, nice to hear that you liked it xD 9. Had we ranked these items on how unique they are, then it would definitely be up high, if not on the top! 8. Agreed. 7. Indeed! 6. You do? That's cool. I sort of wish I'd use them a bit more often myself xD And yes, it looks awesome! I especially love Quake, for some reason. Those purple beams look so cool. 5. Yup! 4. Us too! It's a fantastic item, and I had so much fun using them again when I just played through OoS again. 3. Whoa, we didn't choose the shopkeeper for this list ;) 2. HOW DARE YOU!? Uh, I mean...everyone is entitled to their own opinion :) 1. Haha, nice! :D Good list! If you were following our rules, you'd have to exclude the Ocarina of Time. We included that as a musical instrument in the reoccurring items list :) We have our similarities in the list, but I do like the changes you have as well. We'll see if you're right! - Owner 1
@Tatjana_L.8 жыл бұрын
Hello, Owners! I was really excited for this Top Ten List and here's my opinion, spoilers for the list! #10: Stepladder (TLoZ) I haven't played the original Legend of Zelda, but this item looks super useful! Too bad it can only get you over one gap. #9: Spinner (TP) Oh yeah! Although this item isn't used that often, it's very fun to use, I like it a lot. #8: Din's Fire, Farore's Wind & Nayru's Love (OoT) I used all of them a lot, especially in OoT 3D Master Quest. I can't decide which one's my favorite, though. But you are right that you don't really need them in the regular game. #7: Rod of Seasons (OoS) I don't know the Oracle games, but the Rod of Seasons looks very interesting! #6: Magic Medaillons (ALttP, FSA) Wow, those Medaillons look even more interesting! Do you use them often? #5: Deku Leaf (TWW) Oh yeah, this item is amazing! I love how you can glide with it :-) #4: Magnetic Gloves (OoS, FS) Again, I don't know the Oracle games, but it's cool how this item works in the game! #3: Beetle (SS) Hell yes! I LOVE this item and I'm so, so glad it's so high on your list! The Beetle is simply amazing. #2: Lens of Truth (OoT, MM) I ... I don't like this item, sorry :-/ I found it really annoying to use ... I simply don't like invisible enemies and other invisible things. But you explained very well why you like it, so: no harm done :-) #1: Ball and Chain (TP) I like this item, but it's definitely not my favorite. But it is fun to use and useful at the same time - although it's a little heavy ;-) The only thing I'm missing is the Water Rod from Tri Force Heroes. I really liked it, but sadly, it's not on the list :-( I also really liked the Sand Rod from Spirit Tracks and A Link Between Worlds. Oh well, your list was still amazing and I'm excited for the next list!
@TheOwnersOfTriforce8 жыл бұрын
Hello, Tatjana :D 10: It's really nice. 9: It's definitely unique, alright xD 8: I haven't really needed them in the Master Quest either o.O 7: The concept is great! 6: Nooot really xD Like we said in the video, Din's Fire is something we use more often, but the Medallions here are still awesome! 5: :) 4: Yeah, this item is awesome! 3: It had to be :) 2. AWWW! Too bad :( 1: Hehe, that's understandable :) It was a cool item, but sadly, it didn't make it :/ The Sand Wand from Spirit Tracks almost made it together with the Sand Rod from A Link Between Worlds, since they were so similar. But in the end, they didn't make it either... thank you, can't wait to see you there! :D - Owner 1

here is a suggestion for a top 5 WORST zelda items: 5: TP slingshot, when do you use it? To kill a spider at the begining of the game and... actually that s all 4: Oot ice arrows, when do you use it? hmmm... no fucking idea 3: Some masks in majora s mask, some are useful, some are awesome, some are almost completly useless 2: Fairy occarina in Oot, gift from Saria, how cute... Oh wait here is the occarina of time!!! > I think every one will agree on the top 1 1: Twilight Princess bomb arrows, (no jk.) Here is not only the most expensive item in Twilight princess, but maybe the most expensive item in Zelda. Here is the awesomely looking Magical armor. You can have it for the price of a total of 3598 rupees !!! Yeah lets use it :D Wtf??? I had 200 rupees 1 minute ago where are they???
@TheOwnersOfTriforce8 жыл бұрын
Did you see PBG and MatPat's list again recently too? xD We're not sure if we'll make a list like that. I think there's a way for you to save a certain amount of rupees to open up the Malo Mart in Castle Town by giving some water to a Goron or something. It's still expensive, but a bit cheaper. Some people actually like the armor, though.
@TheCow-j1l4 жыл бұрын
I know this is a 3 years old comment, but I decided to make a suggestion too just because. Some factors: No quest or trade items and I didn't play Oracles, Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild. I will consider how useful it is outside of dungeons, if it feels like a waste of space in the invetory, how fun it's to use and how memorable it is. 5. Longshot (OoT), I always thought it was lazy, one of the items you get in a dungeon is just the same item as another one but longer. Twilight Princess did it better by actually giving an upgrade that expands on your hookshot gameplay. 4. Bombchu and Bombling (OoT and TP), never used outside of some very specific puzzles and when I have no bombs in my invetory to blow up a rock. 3. Raft (TLoZ and AoL), in comparison to the stepladder and the boots, it's a quite boring exploration item in the NES games. It doesn't feel like you are discovering a secret area, you just walk in a plank and the game takes you to the new area. 2. Dominion Rod (TP), literally no uses outside it's intended puzzles, but a fun paddle ball if you are waiting the night to hunt some poes... 1. Sand Wand/Rod (ST and LBW), after you are done if the sand temple you never use it again. It's annoying to control, the pillars dissolve too fast, so you can't even have fun with it. And when compared to the other rods in-game (Fire Rod, Ice Rob and the Magic Rod), it's so unimpressive. Also I consider the musical instruments quest items, that's why the Recorder, Flute and Fairy Ocarina doesn't appear.

I always thought the iron boots were pretty cool how it's intended use changed throughout each game like oot it was mainly for walking underwater, in wind waker it weighed you down for heavy switches and against strong winds (it was used for strong winds in oot as well), and in twilight princess you can walk on ceilings that were magnetized. The last one especially was bad ass
@JMFSpike6 жыл бұрын
Some other really cool items that probably should have been in your top 10. A Link to the Past - Cane of Somaria (Create blocks anywhere and move them all you want, AND it can shoot out beams to kill enemies and hits crystal switches too.) Link's Awakening - Roc's Feather (Being able to jump anytime you want and in any situation normally wouldn't be a big deal at all, but this is the Zelda series we're talking about. Link's ability to jump is almost always restricted to ledges, so this item was pretty awesome in my opinion.) Ocarina of Time - Blue Fire (I can't be the only one who thinks that it was super freakin' cool)
@TheOwnersOfTriforce6 жыл бұрын
Cane of Somaria could have made it. It was a cool item Roc's Feather is not eligible for this particular list, as it has appeared in 4 games. We included it in the Top 10 Reoccurring Items list, though, with its upgrade of Roc's Cape. Blue Fire - really cool concept, for sure! We just didn't think of the potential contents of a bottle as items, to be honest.
@JMFSpike6 жыл бұрын
Well, I guess it might have been pushing it to put something like blue fire on a list like this. But if you ever do a "Top 10(or 5) Coolest Things To Put In Bottles" list, blue fire should probably be number 1(unless there is something cooler as I haven't played every Zelda game).
@HopelessHermit8 жыл бұрын
I always dug the canes: Pacci from MC and Byrna from ALttP to be specific. It's funny how reliant I became on the cane/Magic Cape in ALttP on Blind/Mothula; since my last randomized playthrough the game left them/3 bottles for ganon's tower :(
@TheOwnersOfTriforce8 жыл бұрын
Whoa, 3 bottles in Ganon's Tower!? xD That's unlucky. I've NEVER used the Cane of Byrna to protect myself, and I've only used Magic Cape to walk over spikes. That's pretty much it :p - Owner 1

TheOwnersOfTriforce I think one takes less magic initially, while the other may drain faster in smaller increments (?????) Plus the Cane can hurt other enemies :)

I know you guys wouldn't include this item, but my favorite unique item is the Gale Boomerang. Yes, the Boomerang has appeared many times throughout the Zelda series but the Gale Boomerang in Twilight Princess just seems very special. Just like with the Ball and Chain we get this item from the demi boss we just defeated and actually restore its true power. What's even cooler is that the spirit living inside this item actually talks to us when we first get it and gives us her blessing to use it. I think the Gale Boomerang is the best wind manipulator in the series even if it can't be used that much in combat.
@TheOwnersOfTriforce8 жыл бұрын
We really don't look at it as a unique item. It's still a Boomerang, and we did talk a tiny bit about it in the Reoccurring Items video.

Jebradiah Drake Ehh... honestly it was my least favorite iteration of the Boomerang. My favorite version of the Boomerang is the one in Wind Waker because you can lock onto multiple targets at once like the Gale Boomerang, but instead of blowing a gust of wind, it either cuts strings/vines or gives each targeted thing a THWACK!

One correction, Darmani was a Goron Hero, he was not the leader of his tribe, the leader is that little baby that keeps crying and his father. As Termina is an alternate world, and Darmani obviously represents Darunia, Termina would be much the same of Hyrule if he was the leader.

I just realized something. Minish Cap has a weird set of dungeon items! You've got the Gust Jar, which sucks in the air in front of it. The Cane of Pacci, which flips things upside-down. The Mole Mitts, which let you dig through the ground. The Flame Lantern, which is pretty normal. And the Roc's cape, which essentially lets you fly. Not to mention remotely detonated bombs, a steerable boomerang, and a ring to let you climb up mountains! Okay, that last one wasn't really an item, but still!

Hey Owners, I just started replaying the Oracle games again and after beating the Crown Dungeon from Ages I wondered: Why no dungeon rankings for those games? I'd love to hear why you put Jabu Jabu on the lowest spot again ha ha
@TheOwnersOfTriforce8 жыл бұрын
It's because, at least back then, we thought it was pretty difficult to rank them. The dungeons in those games really don't stand out from one another like the 3D games. That's why we didn't do a dungeon ranking for all the 2D games, but just some that we were a lot more familiar with, like A Link to the Past.

The magnetic gloves pull the other links by their shield since they don't seem to have metal in their tunics.
@TheOwnersOfTriforce7 жыл бұрын
The thing is that the shield in this game can only be carried while not equipping any other items. You either have the shield, the minish cap, the magnetic gloves, or the bow and so on, and it's not required to have the shield for that effect, if you get my point. Either way, it's video game logic, and nothing wrong with that :)
@duohavoc19847 жыл бұрын
TheOwnersOfTriforce but they usually carry the shield in their inventory. That's probably why it still has the ability to pull or push them. Plus if you really think of it the four carry lots of other metal items.
@TheOwnersOfTriforce7 жыл бұрын
No, but the thing is that in Four Swords you don't carry more than 1 item at a time. You find an item and get to use it, but as soon as you find another one, you have to put away the one you had before you carry the next.
@duohavoc19847 жыл бұрын

Very good list! I liked the Beetle a lot because it could be used in place of the slingshot and could be upgraded many times. Could you list the top 5 "catchiest themes" in Zelda? I mean themes that are catchy to listen to while solving a puzzle, fit a characters personality, and/or fit an area's atmosphere. I think the "fire sanctuary" theme and "Ledd and Cobalt's theme" from SS sound pretty catchy and could be used in the list. The "Goron City theme" from OoS is catchy as well.

Yup :D Maybe, but I don't really see that happening anytime soon. One that's really catchy to us is definitely the Mogma theme, but I wouldn't know about the rest. - Owner 1

Here's an idea for Zelda video: games that are on more than one console. ( Examples: Twilight Princess on Game Cube/Wii or A Link to the Past on SNES/GBA)

I'll just keep responding to the rest of your comments in here. Really, it's not enough with the other 17 minutes and 56 seconds? xD You should be able to handle one joke every once in a while. We still do make videos in our way with very little focus on humor, so we really don't know why you would be picky about something so small :P Thank you :) Like we said in the beginning, this isn't a list based on which items are the MOST unique, but rather which unique items we LIKE the most ;) - Owner 1

I'm not actually a huge Spinner fan. Outside of the Arbiter's Grounds, it had very limited uses, such as getting a few heart pieces, getting to the second section of the Cave of Ordeals, and ascending the Hyrule Castle Tower mainly. Even today when I play Twilight Princess, I do not look forward to using the Spinner in the rail room or in the Stallord boss battle. I hate the ricocheting effect, the timing for jumps, and how it is basically useless on the ground without rails to go between. It is certainly unique and memorable, but I hate it when Nintendo develops an item that is more-or-less only useful for the later half of the dungeon in which it was found.
@TheOwnersOfTriforce6 жыл бұрын
That's very understandable. Most people have that issue with it. Even though it's super unique for a Zelda game, it's just not used enough for it to reach its potential.
@CrysisOwnsHalo6 жыл бұрын
Hermaeus Mora What do you mean though? It was so much fun to use in the Stallord boss fight! Definitely one of the better parts in TP by a mile! Almost everything else in the game moved at a snail's pace, but this was one of the few times in the game where you really got some speed! I agree though, very underused outside the dungeon. Such a shame because it's such a cool item. I really wished they found cool ways to use it in City in the Sky. That's where I thought it could have been put to use best outside of Arbiter's Grounds.

I thought number 1 would be the tranformation masks from MM
@TheOwnersOfTriforce7 жыл бұрын
We didn't know what to do with the masks, if they should be included or not, since there are masks in multiple games and there are so many different ones. But you make a good point, we probably could have limited it down to the transformation masks. We did think of making a top 10 masks list at one point or another, so maybe we'll get back to that at some point.

I fucking hate lens of truth, because I got paranoic with invisible things, like i'm always thinking "omg did I miss something improtant in this room because it is invisible?" And then i need to keep using the item a lot of times tô make sure I didn't miss anything, to say the truth, the invisible parts in those games wheren't that hard, but just the idea of invisible tinhgs that could make me fail in finishing the dungeon was enought to make me unconfortable

Din's fire is definitely the best OOT magic spell. The other two I would get but almost never use. Maybe the shield one in the desert against those spinning cactus things. The Deku Leaf is kind of life the Deku Flowers. As much as I don't like Skyward Sword, I will admit, the beetle is kind of cool.

Same as us, huh? I don't think I will forget where they are now after recording this footage the other day, but I don't think I'll start using them. I know the game well enough at this point. You mean in Majora's Mask? It really is!

I totally meant to watch this one. Now I will lol. Now hopefully my #1 will at least get a mention here since it only appeared in one game lol. 10. Oh that would be so cool so you don't have to take the long way around hehe. 9. Omg Top 5 right here and I only made a General Top 10 list hehe. It's actually #4. I don't like the dungeon you get this item in, but OMG once I got that Spinner, I had so much fun with it! That big room you use it in reminded me of a pinball game because you were bouncing of walls and into foes. FYI, pinball is my favorite type of game EVER and anything that reminds me of it is a plus in my book. But yeah the reason why it didn't make higher on my list was the same reason why it was #9 here. 8. I only picked one of these spells and that was Farore's Wind becuase of OMG how much time it saved me so I wouldn't have to backtrack in certain dungeons, Jabu Jabu's Belly, the Forest Temple, Fire Temple, and the Water Temple. But even then it only got an honorable mention because I enjoyed the other ones more. I never had to use Naryu's Love and I only used Din's Fire 2 times for the Shadow Temple. 7. I remember when these two games came out and the one I was interested in the most was the Seasons game because of the fact you could change seasons. Granted I never got any of these games, but still like that mechanic. 6. Wow those do look cool. Never heard of them before either. Probably became I never fully played the games they were in. 5. Deku leaf was okay for me. I actually enjoyed the grappling hook more and found it to be more useful. But that one only got an Honorable mention too. 4. Hmmmm, it does look interesting, but I don't know if I would enjoy it as much as others like it, especially if you're required to think quickly at times. 3. I can tell you right now if I ever finish this game, I would so put this item on my list because it's my favorite of the game so far. I love it! 2. I'll be honest, this is one of my least favorite items because it felt so tedious to use. In fact, I rarely use it now, only to reveal hidden traps. I hated using it when crossing the desert. That part is always nervewracking. 1. Awww fiddlesticks, my fav didn't get a mention. Oh well, ya'll's #1 did get a mention in my list. As a rule, I don't like items that slow me down. But I will admit, it's fun for a defensive and offensive item. My favorite item is the Biggoron Sword from OoT. OMG I love that thing! It really makes the game easier and so enjoyable and the satisfaction I felt completing the side quest to get it is always so satisfying!
@TheOwnersOfTriforce7 жыл бұрын
Haha :) 10. Haha, yeah! 9. Awesome. Pinball is fun, but it's not our favorite :) 8. We've never used Farore's Wind or Nayru's Love other than to just try them out. We've never needed them :p 7. You should get that game then :o 6. Then play. PLAY A LINK TO THE PAST! It's a MUST! :D 5. I see 4. It's an AWESOME item! Seriously :D I think you would enjoy it. 3. :) 2. Aw, come ooon. We love this one :P 1. That's fair :) Well, we didn't want to count swords, so that's a big reason why we didn't include it :p We're probably making a top 10 swords and top 10 shields in the future, though, so it might end up there :) - Owner 1
