The only problem with the backward wing is that it doesn't generate lift when it is used backward. It does last forever, but it is also no longer acting like a wing. It is basically a fancy platform. The fact that the build with the propellers and the flux cores actually works and is practical is a testament to why this game took 6 years to make. Most modern games wouldn't account for things like that, yet here we are.

With the wings it's been discovered that their durability is tied to time spent generating lift. When flown backwards it doesn't generate lift, and so may be flown indefinitely, but it's just a lightweight board at that point, although it still gives the advantage of falling slowly when the engine is cut instead of immediately plummeting. However, with forward facing wings stuck to a rear-facing one, the forward-facing ones will still despawn IF the total build is generating any lift, from any source, which includes fans etc. Basically if you have little wind trails coming off the wing tips, its durability is degrading.
@JohnSmith-sd4mn Жыл бұрын
This is all correct but it let's you use them like 15 minutes longer if used correctly

It increases the durability by a lot and can let you shield surf without feeling like you're wasting the shield, as zonai devices tear through durability. At the north east section of the map is a swirly bit of land called the Rist Peninsula. In the middle of the swirl is a shrine with the propeller inside - and the electric motor incidentally. @wesnohathas1993 Жыл бұрын
Energy efficiency. Fans, on top of taking more power than wheels, stack their battery usage when multiple are active at once, but only the first wheel you add to a build adds to that rate, so wheel motor-based builds can be used for a long time on a small battery. The result as a flying vehicle that uses energy at the rate of a ground vehicle.
