diromiz I think it was mostly a distraction really. It bought him the time he needed to harm the mirror and stall Link even further. Maybe he thought one of the creatures spawned from the mirror shards would be enough to end our hero in green

This dungeon is a living Ocarina of Time reference. The 4 poes and first dungeon after getting the Master Sword a la Forest Temple, and it's the desert temple with usgae of both forms of Link a la Spirit Temple!

But by the same token, doubles as an awesome allusion or reference to *Skyward Sword*, because in that place, the "Water" themed Goddess-related region of Lanaryu is where you go for that really expansive stuff like the Sandship and the Fortress. But onto my Questions for the Confounding: 1. Was the Arbiter Grounds originally the WATER TEMPLE? Was that entire region originally the Lake Hylia spot, and yet somehow, over several centuries passing, turned into a _dried-up, shit-blown desert environment inhabited by a half-naked fairy and a bunch of Goblins? 2. Given this game's propensity and emphasis on "Destined characters doomed to repeat the same classic plot of Good versus evil", I only have this to ask: *Did the Ancient Sages who usually prophesy Link kicking ass and saving the day also have the sense to forsee when one of their Temples is about to go UNDER during a few generations, which would maybe, I don't know, give them a good reason to actually try and prevent that from happening?* Cause that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. 3. Taking the above question into account, Ruto, as you so grandly explained, *Is the Sage of Water*, AND the heir to Zora tribe. Instead of just moving out and AWAY from that area, you'd think they'd at least try to take measures to avoid their Temple of Worship from being dried-up and having a hostile aesthetic change!

Perhaps that scimitar was designed to be an instrument for enchantment rather than a weapon. As for why Zant could beat Lanayru and not Link...either the the Hero of Time is more powerful than a light spirit...or bad writing. Pick your poison.
