There are 1/8” and 1/16” horseshoe tile shims available. We are looking for the “no grout” look and understand grouting is necessary. Is it ok to have our installer use 1/16” shim on the Zellige square? We are also not going to use any tile leveling shim. Great video by the way.

@kristianmorales4629, I’m also looking for the “no grout” look and wondering if you completed yours and if so, how did it turn out? I look forward to your reply. Thank you

Why do you have to use grout if you space them next to one another?

We don't recommend dry stacking. 1- it will be hard to have straight lines given the slight variation in size. 2- the tiles can be sharp and may cut someone. 3- you won't be able to blend all the imperfections. Let us know if you have any more questions.

We always recommend to our clients to hire a professional tile installer first. These are just tips for DIY not the exact sequence of steps or instructions.

I hired a professional and he sent his helper to grout. Zellige tile was overgrouted - sloppy overlapping over the tile edges. And pinholes. You don't always get what you paid for.
