Top speed run 88.23mph (142kmh) with the NEW Dynamite 3831 Zelos twin replacement motors. As of today, I believe this is the fastest speed anyone has ever got out of a stock Pro Boat Zelos twin equipped with the new Zelos twin updated motors (DYNM3831) while using stock ESC's that has been video recorded and verified by (2) GPS devices. These motor just came out a month or so ago and now all of the new Zelos 36 twins are equipped with them from this point on due to ProBoat discontinuing the old DYNM3910 motors. This was my first run with the new motors and I flipped on my second pass coming back into a slight wind at around 70mph. I have attached photos of the GPS logger software that has the details of the run mapped out at the end of the video and you can see that I hit my top speed of 88.23mph (142kmh) about ¾ the way on my first pass, so this proves this boats capabilities with the new motors. Also, I believe from slowing down and stopping so quickly at the end of my first pass all the “water drag force” forced my left drive to move up significantly out of adjustment and helped cause the flip on the way back. My backup run after this run on struts out of adjustment on the same battery charge was 85.12mph (137kmh). The highest temps I saw over my first test today were 104° ESC &106°on the motors the ambient temp was 68°. The Batteries used were (4) 3s 11.1volt Gens Ace brand. Sorry for the long video I didn't want to edit any of it for authenticity purposes. Thanks for watching!

I used to to be more into the RC boating hobby. I still have a couple. I still have a planes, drone, & rc trucks too. My hobby time cut back after becoming more settled in family life. I have a friend that's into these hobbies too. We should all meet up sometime and go run stuff. If you on FB just look me up and add me or msg me etc. That way we can get in touch easier and figure something out. I'm super stoked to see you doing this. I waited years trying to get interest out there on those water. So it's great to find this video & connect.

That's badass! Gotta love brushless motors and Lipos. Wonder if Graphene-based Lipos would give you more power? They definitely do for my airborne applications, higher voltage under high loads and great cycle life. Bit more weight but that may be good for a boat.

@MrMad2424 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, the Graphene batteries do have more power. I have some that I will probably run this Spring to hopefully improve my speed. What brand do you use in you're airborne stuff?
@barthchris1
@barthchris1 6 жыл бұрын
MrMad2424 I recommend the HobbyKing Graphene packs. The 65C packs seem to be much better than the 45C packs. I've also had very good luck with Chinahobbyline.com packs. Their Gplus line also has graphene oxide on the cells anode layers. Yeah, the name sounds risky but their actually very good, based in Hollywood CA!? You can get a killer deal there if you are patient. Quick shipping if in US as well. Trust me, with either brand you will be satisfied. I've pulled 125A peaks on aggressive acro flights from a 4s 1300mAh 65C HK Graphene packs with my 250 sized quad. Same with 4s 1300mAh 70C Gplus packs. Packs came down slightly warm, never puffed one. I have destroyed many from impacting objects(trees, ground, light poles, my houses roof) at high speed though. Lol!

Thanks! The 3910's were just under powered. Team Orion is the manufacturer of the new 3831's and they are way better less heat and they have 1/3 more horsepower. The 1716 props are pretty scarce to come by since I made this video....or maybe its just a coincidence...LOL! You can contact Chris Hoffmann (dasboata) at dasboata.com and he can tell you the availability and the current price for them. I think they are like $60.00 each though.

@MrMad2424

Daniel Melfa The part number is the same because this isn't a version change its just a running change. If I was you I'd buy from Horizon because these Boat's are price locked meaning they are suppose to all be sold at the same price across the board and no coupons are accepted on them from any online store. With Horizon you could call sales and ask them which version they are shipping and you have much better warranty leverage buying directly through them and you get free shipping and no tax. Good luck.

top speed is held by pro boat designer of the zelos twin at 93 mph.
@MrMad2424
@MrMad2424 7 жыл бұрын
Michelle Hanzelko Thanks for the comment. Rafael (ProBoat developer) use to hold the top speed at 93.9mph of a "modified" zelos twin, but now the record is held by Dino Ericsson at 95.9 mph. As of now I have the fastest "all stock electronics" setup at 80.77mph (with the old discontinued motors) and now I have the fastest publicized speed with the 'all stock electronics" Zelos with the New ProBoat stock 3831 replacement motors at 88.23mph. See the below link for more details on the top published speeds of this boat. forums.offshoreelectrics.com/showthread.php?55116-Zelos-Fast-List!!

@MrMad2424
@MrMad2424 6 жыл бұрын
Make sure you motors are both turning inward (left motor spinning right and right motor spinning left) if not you will unravel every flex you put in the boat. Also you have to have a 1716 CLL (left rotation prop and 1716 CLR (a right rotation prop). Make sure you ordered two different props. If not and you changed the wires on one motor the boat will move normal for a short distance until your left side flex gives out and comes unwound from being ran backwards.

When boat fly the speed more faster.
@MrMad2424
@MrMad2424 5 жыл бұрын
The boat didn't "fly" on the first pass........see the datalogger picture at 8:17 in the video of where the boat actually hit 88mph at and you will clearly see it went 88 on the first pass before the flip on the second pass . Here's you another video of it doing 87mph if you don't believe it hit 88 in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHysnWilYsmIrNE ....BTW 90mph is my best speed yet...

it seems very strange on my twin zelos I mounted the new dynamite 3831 engines update propellers 1714 with esc stock my maximum speed with GPS skyrc does not exceed 103 km per hour there is something wrong ... I think they are all bullshit
@MrMad2424
@MrMad2424 6 жыл бұрын
Fabio Thanks for the comment! I am very sorry you can't get your boat set up properly to run 90mph. One thing that came to mind while reading your comment was you are using 1714 props and I use professionally prepped 1716 props from www.dasboata.com So that is one of your problems. I have made several runs from 86 to around 91mph with my 1716 my setup. I ran "103kmh" with my boat bone stock out of the box with the old motors and stock props. But I'm still wondering why you would call "bullshit".....That's one reason I put two gps units (with the data log recording) and do not edit record breaking runs in order to prove to people like you that my stuff "is what it is". Take a look at this forum and you will see several others running speeds similar to my speeds. forums.offshoreelectrics.com/showthread.php?55116-Zelos-Fast-List!! Good luck and I hope you find the "sweet spot" that this boat likes!

Thanks for your comment! The Zelos is made by Pro Boat and my Rescue Boat is from AquaCraft models, and I made the PVC float myself...I don't sell homemade PVC floats either and I definitely don't like crashing a boat that I have around $1,000.00 invested in..LOL!
