The point is to have attention in the first place. To everything happening inside you at all times. This is real meditation as far as i see it. We can divide our attention between certain aspects of ourselves, broadening our connection with the being we are and therefore bringing us into possibilities of growing that being. The best thing i have found in myself is to look at everything whilst looking at nothing. This is done by taking everything in at once that your vision/eyes can see without becoming distracted ( your eyes moving) to any movement, colours, or objects. You reach a point where you see everything, including yourself also and will arrive at sensing everything your instinctive center can sense. And you will become deteached from it all. You must look through your eyes like a camera looks. Do not focused or have your attention focus in on anything specific, but rather see it all simultaneously. ❤

This was helpful. I was having a hard time with the walking meditation instructions that have you walk super slow for 15 feet, then turn and go back the other way; just back and forth. This type of walking meditation I can do during my workday in the wooded garden beside my office building. A slow, natural, mindful walk. Thank you for the inspiration.

This sounds like an idealised way of practicing Zen, but doing so only in peaceful surroundings such as a park, will only build false strength. Zen will be taken into every day, mundane or challenging tasks. This builds true strength. This is still a very helpful video. Much appreciated. Kindly, C.

I’ve spent the last 3 years doing walking meditation in a hostile and crowded city park in Jamaica queens NY during my lunch break as a teacher . Applicable anywhere

She didn't say to only do it such settings, you are right but folks need to start where they are and often that is inside a home, apartment.

@@robmurphy7508 Agreed. There's are always people that find joy in being overly critical - and the useful essence of the message goes right over their heads. Glad to see your comment.

I disagree. Only because the video shows one in such environments. Yet I understand your meaning. First, we must start with what is possible before trying to achieve that which is not. To walk with connection/attention to oneself and therefore without oneself is far easier in a place with less distractions, less noise, less movement, less people, less slogans etc. If one can't do it in a forest all alone, then one certainly can't do it in a mayor city with all its attempts at captivating your attention and therefore enslaving you. When one achieves a connectedness to oneself then ofcourse to walk within the city walls is a new test of inner strength. But if people can't do it in a park then how they can do it in a concrete jungle?
