Zen is her biological son and he has no father. Sayuri used a sperm donor and in vitro to have the her son Zen on her own. People are hating on her because she chose to be a single mother by choice and because the show invited her despite her not having a husband. It's mainly old, conservative people who think that a baby should be raised by both a husband and a wife who are giving her hate. I hope that answers your question
