When I was 4 or 5 I had this dark maroon wool jumper that I had to wear with a little white blouse. I could not stand the color or texture, so I would grab it from the closet and stuff it into the dirty clothes hamper so I wouldn't have to wear it. To one day in particular, in middle school, I attempted to wear something different than my usual jeans, t-shirts, hoodies etc. then once at school my social anxiety and young teenage need to fit in had me obsessing so bad about feeling just different, off & very awkward in what I was wearing, to the point I said I was sick (literally was sick from anxiety by that point.) & was sent home early. So I get it! Poor Z! I hope it all worked out in the end.

I have felt that a lot. I’m allergic to metal so I couldn’t wear jeans or jewelry or anything with like metal zippers ect. I didn’t have parents that cared to look for something cute that I could wear and so I was always put in ugly clothes and everything was also hand me downs from my older siblings. She had rewritten it, tried to get it right so many times.. Time was crunched and she had to bite the bullet and use whiteout instead of rewriting the whole thing because if she would have, it wouldn't have been done at all. Like if Zendaya would have continued to try to fix what couldn't be fixed instead of making it work she wouldn't have made it in time, and the dress wouldn't even be anywhere near what she had imagined. If she wouldn't have used white out on her essay it wouldn't have been fully done. If something you're doing is on a time limit you are going to want to put that out with imperfections rather than not putting out anything at all.(like not going to the ball or not turning in an essay) They wanted a dress without any imperfections and she wanted an essay without any imperfections but time wasn't on their side so they bit the bullet and went with it and did whatever they had to do to make it presentable. Let’s face it she doesn’t need a fancy fiber optic dress to impress, but I would imagine that this was a very stressful situation. It’s not just about address. It’s about her career and the way she wanted to present herself. She is a true professional and I can understand the anxiety. she did a beautiful job and she didn’t need a fancy dress to do it. Her internal struggles are very real and sometimes very heavy, and it comes out in tears when you feel helpless to be on top at the moment. Its not shame, its being overwhelmed in a situation where everyone expects you to be the one on top, but you also feel like all of the decisions are being made for you. I see you, sweetheart.
