I've heard so many versions of this through ASMR that I barely remember the one I did as a kid lol. I think it went something like this: Criss-cross applesauce, X marks the spot (draw an X on back) A dotted line and a question mark (draw those symbols on back) An egg cracks on your head (knock top of head), let the yolk trickle down (light fingers down scalp) Stab a knife in your neck (thump back of neck with fist), let the blood trickle down (light fingers down back) Spiders crawling up your back, bite you on the neck (light fingers up back and pinch neck gently) Soft breeze (blow on neck), tight squeeze (hug from behind), now you've got the shivers It was important to be sitting criss-cross applesauce on the floor and having the person do the movements on you from behind.

Oh I loved the pizza one as a kid! This made me feel so nostalgic. I lived on a farm as a kid and I was obsessed with farming and farm animals. When it was my dads turn to bring me to bed, he would tell a story about a farmer who lived in a tiny house on my back. He would always ask me what the farmer should do next and I would answer something like harvesting carrots or feeding the chickens. He then would go on and try his best to imagine how he can do this as a „massage“ (English is not my first language, so sorry if that sounds funny). Harvesting was always a soft pinch for example. Or when I said I wanted to plant flowers, he would draw lines on my back for the seeds. He would also tap on my back for rain, swipe over my back for wind and he would rub his hands together and lay them flat on my back for „warm rays of sunshine“. I loved bed time as a kid. My dad worked long hours but this was our special time.

I remember something like this, it probably was in Dutch. It ended with some sort of bad thing happening and then you had to open your eyes. The storyteller would ask "What color did you see first when you opened your eyes?" and the color would decide how/whether you did or did not survive. For example, if you saw red first, there would be a fire. If you saw green first, you would fall on grass but you would survive it.

I'm finnish and these reminded me of similar once I did as a child! This was our version of this: neljä reikää selässä (four holes in your back | tap four times making a square) puukko viiltää keskeltä (a knife gushes between | run your finger down the middle of the square of dots) veri valuu veri valuu (blood runs down, blood runs down | run the fingers of both hands down the back) hevonen potkaisee (a horse kicks | gently hit your palm against the back) mummo kiljaisee (a grandma shrieks/screams | scream quietly and squeeze shoulders) kissa raapaisee (a cat scratches | scratch the back) koira puraisee (a dog bites | squeeze the back with your fingers) hämähäkit kiipeää (spiders climb | tap your fingers against the back and move them up at the same time) kananmuna lätsähtää (an egg cracks/makes a wet sound | crack an imaginary egg on top of head and run palms down the sides of the head) tuliko kylmät väreet? (did you get the shiveries? | run hands on the back) This is quite gruesome now that I think about it but I think it's quite common with finnish nursery rhymes :D
