Zenith had their own acoustic laboratories . Their stereo systems from the late seventies to the early eighties were even more improved, wood cabinets , ball bearing tuning knob aluminum tone arm with counter balance weight. There were also block style components . You should hear the Allegro 4000 speakers , they have phenomenal sound.

I have yet to come across another one of these and I don't think I have every encountered the speakers. I'll have to keep an eye out :)

They used to come with circle of sound speakers, which sounded pretty good and made handy tabletops, held a glass and appetizer quite well.

I've come across those speakers in pictures, but not in person (yet).

I was surprised at the rich sound. I was skeptical before I connected speakers to it.

The Allego line was the last US built Zenith radios. Decks & TT's were sourced but the main parts ( amps, RF & IF ) US. The Allegro speakers were highly regarded even in audiofile circles especially the 3000 ( IIRC ). Sold lots of them but only had to fix a few. A very nice mid level stereo. This one was TOTL & called the Wedge. LFOD !

Never heard a pair of Allegro speakers...need to keep an eye out for some.

IIRC they were 1000, 2000 & 3000. Also came in blue & white and a matching set for the Avanti ultra modern & rare combo. There was a whole line of allegro stereos. @@millervintagehifi3034

If you don't have the record stabilizer arm over the spindle, it will keep repeat-playing a record.

It sounded surprisingly good for what it is. The shop sold it shortly after I repaired it. Glad its moving to a new home.

Don't think I have ever seen a magnetic cartridge on such a low end BSR changer. I Shure M75S I would guess.

Old grease on tt. 8 track remove trim and pull the whole unit. Not that bad. Does yours have the quad sim?

It moved on some time ago. I don't recall seeing anything relating to quad on it.
