+prince of beirut I know what you mean; this one really grabbed me. The broad bezel really improves the proportions of the dial. Without it, the El Primero's relatively smaller size results in sub-dials that appear too close together, but with the bezel, the dial seems to be well framed. My favorite detail is the little silicon escape wheel inside the aperture on the dial; it features a photo-etched Zenith star logo as its spokes! Best, Tim

True that. This accomplishes all that a Big Bang does from a style standpoint, sits lower on the wrist for better cuff compatibility, and packs the kind of serious watchmaking credentials that Hublot still struggles to achieve. Plus, it's a serious tech showcase that demonstrates the functional potential of exotic materials. Hublot combines unique materials primarily for aesthetic purposes, but Zenith really puts the carbon, Ti, ceramic, Nomex, and aluminum to work for the user in a functional sense. Best, Tim

+Roelf van der Merwe It sounds just as cool as it looks. Along with a handful of notably noisy complications and the ballistic AP Escapement models, El Primero is one of the few movements that can be recognized by sound alone when placed against the ear. Best, Tim

Wow. Zenith is a brand that anyone who isn't interested in luxury timepieces will never know. Like you, I fell in love with the Chronomaster XXT Open the moment I laid my eyes on it. It would be the 2nd luxury timepiece I purchase after a Speedmaster. Never regretted it ever since. From then on, I'm a huge fan of the Zenith El Primero line. Great watch, great review. Will be even better if the steel case was replaced with ceramic.
