It's very interesting that with all that empire building, centralization, complex state funded projects ancient Egypt didn't develop currency much earlier in the game. It's a niche interest in a niche interest, but it would be very cool if you did a video on the subject, or just on economics in general for the average person before minted coins began to circulate.

I am definitely planning a couple of things that touch on the ancient Egyptian economy, so watch this space...

whene he reached the Euphrates he discovered that the other Nile flow upside down
@ArmchairEgyptology2 жыл бұрын
That was Thutmose I! He claimed to have actually crossed it and built a stela there to celebrate that fact, though it’s lost now.

@@ArmchairEgyptology but did he reach it in militaristic way?
@ArmchairEgyptology2 жыл бұрын
Not as a conqueror, no. Thutmose III was definitely the first to extend Egypt’s borders to Mesopotamia.

Question: Why is lower egypt in the north and upper egypt in the south?
@ArmchairEgyptology2 жыл бұрын
The Nile flows south to north! The land is literally lower to the north and the north is downriver. Remember that we only orient our maps with north to the top because we choose to. It's no more correct than putting east or south at the top.

Napoleon , the Thutmose of France, just not quite as successful in battle as the great pharaoh. Funny how they both were diminutive in stature and shared a Thuthmosionic complex😜

If Thutmose had been more of a Napoleon he'd have definitely crossed the Euphrates, and had his whole backside handed to him 😅
