Thank you for contacting to celebrate these VCRs. Everyone seems to just want to thrown out everything that is physical media. Growing up with these machines they are very special to us gen x folks. I have records. Cassettes and a 1998 Compaq computer all still functioning. For me, I'm tired of tossing everything out and replacing it. Keep doing your thing, it's appreciated.

All'inizio del video quando hai caricato la videocassetta credevo che l'avrebbe rovinata ma e finita bene dopo la sostituzione della cinghia.ottimo video

Funny how when it is paused you can see the odd and even fields after the rolling shutter goes by on the TV

i have a couple of zeniths one a side loader and the other is from the late 80s and it needs the idler tire replaced.

Zenith was bought out by LG Electronics (Goldstar) in 1995.

I have a slightly older Zenith with the same mechanism. Like yours, all that was wrong with it was the belt. These Zeniths seem to be bulletproof.

If I watched 30 more seconds I would have seen the eject issue 😂@@probnotstech

Would be fun if it actually is the machine that belonged to your grandparents, one of those "it was always meant to be yours" sort of things... :) As for the TV quirk, that's possibly a PC connectivity thing, if the HDMI or DVI output on a computer didn't support audio (for wahtever reason), then you could pipe it in over other audio inputs through an analogue audio cable from a line or speaker output, usually it was just a 3.5mm jack, but maybe Philips chose to use the RCAs instead (or as well as)...

I choose to believe. The broken and then poorly glued-on tabs really feel like something I would have done back then. And I think you're right on the HDMI thing. The TV does have a 3.5mm audio in jack for the VGA input, but I guess it uses the RCA connection for AV2 if there's no audio detected on the HDMI input.
