To become a hashira, you must either kill 50 demons, or one of the 12 Kizuki, Zenitsu is the only non Hashira to defeat an Upper moon completely by himself, Kaigaku was very weak compared to the others Upper demons, but he was still Upper 6, meaning Zenitsu, by rule, is a Hashira

Kaigaku wasn't his ally, Zenitsu's "grandpa" adopted them both and trained them (none of the three are blood related), and Zenitsu respected him but Kaigaku only saw him as weak and annoying.

He was very sad to have to fight someone that he respected like family, which is why he only pulled out his 7th form as a final attack, when he could've used it at the very start of the fight and won right away. Since the 7th form is something he created specifically to fight alongside with Kaigaku, he didn't want to use it to kill him.

Here's my reason why: -it doesn't indicate who his parents are -it doesn't indicate what happened to his parents -it doesn't indicate who took care of him before he met gramps or if zenitsu was homeless or not -it doesn't give enough information about his past relationships with his past girlfriends So yeah Btw I do respect the fact that the fan book does tell us more information about him but I still think he needed a extended backstory chapter And even tho the main story's manga is completed the manga creator sometimes makes spin offs or extra chapters so hopefully the manga creator makes some kind of spin off or a extra chapter about zenitsus backstory

I don't think it has anything to do with Rengoku since Honoikazuchi aka Flaming Thunger God is literally the name for one of Japanese gods of thunder. And it's pretty common for manga/anime authors to use such names. Heck, this exact name was used for a technique of Sasuke in Naruto Shippuden.

In the manga, it was never explored why the 7th form was called Flaming Thunder God. But for me it's because of the late Flame Hashira Rengoku, and Tanjiro became the inspiration for that 7th form.

If I remember right one of the reasons this moment was so great in the manga was because Zenitsu had always used only the 1st form of Thunder Breathing, but didn't have a knack for the other forms and couldn't use them. Meanwhile his Aniki could use all 6 forms of Thunder Breathing perfectly, so while he only expected the face the first form he was caught completely off guard when Zenitsu unleashed a 7th form of his own creation. Deffinately one of the coolest fights from the manga. :,)

After performing the 7th form for the first time and executing his senior, his orange coat ripped apart to show the demon slayer uniform (which we rarely see on Zenitsu) .. You can tell he hasn't mastered this form just as good as the 1st form because his blade is unsheathed whereas when he does the 1st form his finish is always with the blade in the sheathe. Just some subtle details!

@@weeb5495 oh that make sense.. maybe you're right! but think about it, first of all - this move was so fast that the opposition couldn't react to it. secondly, when he kicked off the ground to initiate the attack he didn't draw his weapon. so if you put two and two together it would make sense that the attack was a form of "quick" draw. And lastly, the only move he's mastered is the 1st form. So I really believe that his new move would be based off of the first form, which in your own words is an iaijutsu technique (quick draw)

Amazing Animation.......One thing i appreciate about zenitsu character is how multilayered he is from cowering to badass to brave ..it brings such a relatable/realistic bonding aspect between him and the audience and makes his badass moments even more saucey...it would be hard to fathom would he could truly do if had the powerups some other characters had, just from considering how extremly Op his techniques already are

I love him because when he was a coward he boosted his self-confidence and fearlessly fought a demon, he's definitely at hashira level because he hit Daki and Kaigaku in 1 hit and managed to form his own technique like the last Giyuu and Muichiro. He did some damage to Muzan in the last battle. A normal demon hunter cannot make them, and Zenitsu is faster than some hashiras.

People like to underrate zenitsus speed. If you aren’t aware, that was zenitsu travelling up an abyss and killing kaigaku IN AN INSTANT. A demon didn’t even see his own death. Zenitsu was so fast his kimono ripped off. That requires heavy air resistance.

And it is 2 or 3 arc later from Entertainment District arc. This fight took place in chapter 143-144 & above i guess while current eps days ago in anime was took from chapter 81. Looks like we gonna wait years more to see this fight dude. Lol
